I know @xiehan opened @phpday this year with a talk like that, and @heiglandreas did such a keynote at phpCE 2017. But yes, it's missing at a lot of conferences.

I have a deja vu - there was the same issue with PHPce conf, which was cancelled due to speakers withdrawing because of lack of diversity in the lineup. Some good blogposts were published about the responsibility of the privileged for the diversity.

In den >20 Jahren als Entwickler hatte ich nur zwei weibliche Kollegen, die wirklich am Code gearbeitet haben. Das zu politisieren ist völliger Quatsch. Niemand hindert Frauen daran PHP zu lernen und damit ihr Geld zu verdienen. Nur ist PHP eben eine komplexe Sprache. #PhpCE

The fiasco with #reactgate and #phpgate at phpCE 2019 should be the last straw anyone has to put up with. It's time we coders put a stop to these identity politics madness that is infesting the tech world and hindering progress. We need to call out all the professional victims!

Two different responses after sharing a talk detailing a woman harassment in the tech industry at work yesterday: - A female dev tearfully telling me how good it was. - A male dev offering the phpCE story as "the other side of it". I'm tired.

Я должен был быть спикером на phpce. Эта конференция по своему все эти годы была очень diversity там были сообщества Польши, Чехии, Германии. Но всем пофиг. Её уничтожил скандал. На всё РНР сообщество от силы 5 сильных спикерш о РНР. И об этой проблеме никто не хочет говорить 😣

Конференцию phpCE в Дрездене отменили из-за отсутствия женских докладчиков. Докладчики оказались сплошь белые да ещё и мужчины. Необходимо пересмотреть изобретение колеса. Если в нём НЕ принимали участие женщины, предлагаю запретить его нахуй/впизду.
