Peter, Thanks for this. There can be little doubt that what you say is true. With Peter Garrett now chairing (of all things) a crowd funded commission of enquiry into this monumental boondoggle, what will be interesting to see is if US forces will still continue to “get the nod”.
But leaving aside what outcome we might all expect from this inquiry, Aussies might benefit from a better understanding of the history of the Australian-US relationship. We’ve always been a vassal state for the US, a proposition I explore at some length in my article of a couple of years back (👀🔗👇).
This one’s especially for all those Aussies who ever asked the following of their history teacher (and perhaps never got an answer they could hang their hat on): “Sir/Ms, YT🤬do we need to learn this💩for?”😉👍🙏
