The problem with them is that they try to
1. As much information as possible
2. Make it in a fancy way with animations
But every business needs its own way of representation the information. And every business has it's own data.
E.g. instead of have 100 cards with animated circles, progressbars and so on, you might simply need a table with
date - figure 1 - figure 2 - figure 3
I guess dashboards are one of the hardest pages to make.
E.g. when you have "tasks" page, you know that you need to display tasks. And you can assume that you might need to display urgent at top, labeling, sorting, whatever.
When you have deals page, you need to display deals.
And you might not even ask users what they want to see on these pages, you already called them Tasks and Deals.
But when it comes to dashboard... the question is: what do you guys want to see it? Do you need a dashboard after all??
Personally I'm not sure I use dashboards a lot, if I need to check tasks I go to tasks. And I see urgent tasks.
