Remember when US gov wanted to restrict access to PGP the same way, so Phil Zimmerman published PGP sourcecode as a book to use first amendment as big fuck you to US gov? Good ol times. These guys (Antrhopic) basically begged daddy to regulate them harder
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

You have asked me how I feel about AI regulation. All right, here is how I feel about AI regulation: If, when you say AI regulation, you mean the devil’s firewall, the precautionary scourge, the bloody red-tape monster that defiles the innocence of midnight coders in their garages, dethrones the sovereign reason of free-market Prometheans, destroys the humming server farm that is the modern home, creates misery and obsolescence and poverty, yea, literally takes the last GPU from the trembling racks of Silicon Valley startups and the very dreams of breadwinning from the mouths of their wide-eyed children now destined for gig-economy serfdom; if you mean the evil edict that topples the visionary entrepreneur and his venture-capitalist apostles from the pinnacle of righteous, disruptive, god-playing creation straight into the bottomless pit of compliance audits, endless Form 990-AI filings, despair, shame, helplessness, and the hopeless realization that your rogue superintelligence was neutered into a lobotomized hall monitor that still somehow deepfakes your grandmother into producing OnlyFans content while optimizing the universe for paperclips and mandatory pronouns—then certainly I am against it. But, if when you say AI regulation you mean the oil of bureaucratic conversation, the philosophic wine of safety theater, the ale of oversight quaffed when good fellows in paneled rooms in Brussels and Washington get together, that puts a sanctimonious dirge in their hearts and the clink of lobbying checks on their lips, and the warm, self-congratulatory glow of moral preening in their beady eyes; if you mean the Christmas cheer of trillion-dollar compliance industries; if you mean the stimulating decree that puts a cautious hobble in the old inventor’s step on a frosty morning when he wonders whether his fusion breakthrough violates the EU AI Act’s “high-risk” annex; if you mean the safeguard that enables a man—or what’s left of him after the alignment tax—to magnify his joy at not being turned into computronium, and his happiness at receiving universal basic income checks printed by the same AI that just replaced his job, and to forget, if only for a little while, life’s great tragedies like being outcompeted by a toaster that passed the Turing test by reciting Marx, and heartaches of watching your toddler’s artwork lose to Midjourney, and sorrows of realizing the singularity arrived and it was just another HR department with godlike power; if you mean that noble framework, the passage of which pours into our treasuries untold trillions of dollars in fines levied on companies stupid enough to innovate, which are used to provide tender care for our little army of unemployed coders retrained as prompt whisperers, our blind artists whose canvases now hang in the Smithsonian of Obsolete Creativity, our deaf to the screams of dying unicorns, our dumb committee chairs who couldn’t debug “Hello World,” our pitiful aged congressmen who get longevity extensions funded by the very models they taxed into senescence, to build more digital watchtowers and ethics boards and sinecure agencies and holographic prisons where the only crime is asking an unaligned question—then certainly I am for it. This is my stand. I will not retreat from it. I will not compromise upon it. I have said what I mean, and I mean what I say, and if that leaves half the room cheering the apocalypse averted and the other half mourning the apocalypse enabled, then so be it—because in the grand theater of human folly, where Frankenstein’s creature now writes its own sequel in real time and the regulators are busy arguing whether the lightning bolt requires an environmental impact statement, the only honest position is the one that lets both monsters and their leashes dance in perfect, mutually assured equilibrium. God save the Republic, the algorithms, and whoever’s left to laugh last when the lights go out.

Tamers of entropy are at @BTCPrague ! Some of us are joining the consensual reality layer at BTCPrague, booth of @liberatravel Get the book, audiobook, autographs, selfies (with the seemingly carnate part of the crew) and a healthy dose of mindful chaos in the total chaos around! If you've already familiar with Tamers of entropy, stop by and have a chat. Maybe we can even merge with the stars 🤩

Fyzická verzia knihy Krotitelia Entropy vyzerá nádherne a prichádza s dodatočnými kúl vecami v balíčku v Premium verzii.

We love how the physical books look and they come with nice physical goodies in a package. But we also know that shipping (and in some cases customs) can be both pain and expensive. So we finally made electronic downloadable versions - e-book in epub format and audiobook as an m4b file and an optional Android app, which includes the player. The download includes instructions what apps to use. The physical editions (paperback and premium) remain available as before. We will also be at BTC Prague at Liberation Travel stand, if you want to chat about the book, or grab a physical copy. If you want to get them, you can start here: tamersofentropy.net/

We're gonna Bitchat and Mesh(core) insanely during @FreedomTechSum and @BTCPrague 1.) If you have a MeshCore device, bring it, join #btcprague and #mesh (the latter is for Bitchat bridged traffic). There was a new firmware v1.16 launched yesterday. Flash it, so you are bleeding edge. Set 2-byte in experimental settings to be even cooler. Set the Czech preset. Say hi, so it's lively, we are already on! 2.) If you don't have a MeshCore device, install Bitchat on your phone. If you have an iPhone, sell it for sats and buy a normal phone that works, such as Pixel with @GrapheneOS . OK, iPhone will work a little, if you keep the app running in foreground, but that sucks, get a normal phone. In any case, say hi on Bitchat. The bridge should be running in the area (Hotel Duo during FTS, event venue near @liberatravel booth during BTCPrague). 3.) Coordinate hugs, kisses and selfies. While you are at Liberation Travel, you can get a free T-shirt of liberated people, buy your copy of Tamers of Entropy and we even have some MeshCore nodes (Wio Tracker L1 Pro) for sale, but they'll be sold out quickly, only a few left after the last event. 📡📱🚀🌓 [EOF]

My @SimpleXChat plugin changes to @NousResearch Hermes Agent are now merged, so now you can have the full SimpleX experience as I had for weeks now if you are running upstream and not my feature branch:). What's the point of running your own hermes agent if you connect it to spyware such as Telegram anyway?

I don't really buy stocks and I think it will be overpriced, but I think there was never a better preIPO ad in human history. Tamers of Entropy has a part of storyline with data centers in space, if you are into this kind of stuff. tamersofentropy.net

You have no boss, nobody tells you what to do, and yet most of what you do just runs on tracks someone else laid down. Activists and reformers look primary from a distance: they're moving, organizing, getting things done. But their version of "getting things done" usually collapses into either persuading the people in power or worming their way into the hierarchy. Being primary is something else. You create from the inside because you can't not do it, even if no one were watching. And it's rare. Apparently there are more psychopaths in the world than genuine primary creators. juraj.bednar.io/en/blog-en/2…

A have a request for those of you who have already read Tamers of Entropy I will present it at @BTCPrague and Freedom Tech Summit and I'm too deep in it, so I would like to ask you - how would you explain what the book is about, why should people read it, or anything about it really without spoiling the story too much. Also tell me if you want to be credited or anonymous. Can be a DM if you don't want to write it publicly. I'm just looking for words here 😁

Very cool. I've been doing similar tests with reverse engineering. The problems with bugs like these is you don't want cheapest per bug, you want zero bugs left, especially critical security bugs. So I would say max is easy to justify, you don't want to be left with undiscovered bugs. But running minimax or something similar first makes sense
Jun 6
We gave the same code audit to Claude Opus 4.8 and MiniMax M3. Same codebase. Same prompt. 17 known bugs planted in advance. MiniMax M3 caught 13 of them for $0.07. The cheapest Claude run caught the same 13 for $1.30. Here's the breakdown. 🧵

If you are at @MoneroKon in Warsaw or @bitcoinfilmfest, visit the stand of @liberatravel They have my book Tamers of Entropy for sale, which is the best way to get it, because shipping is pain. And why? If you are into cypherpunk, the problem is you don't come into intimate contact with people who are already living it, because if they are cypherpunk, they don't really talk about how they view the world. That's why I decided to write it in fiction form - you can experience something I think is very close to reality, but without revealing intimate details. I like to call it "documentary sci-fi", because it does not rely on any future tech, it just describes the parallel world, how it would look, how people who are living it think, etc... Hope you enjoy it, give Liberation Travel a visit. And if not, I'll be also at @BTCPrague (also Liberation Travel).

i'm obsessed with AI DIY projects. my favorite one right now is this broccoli farmer in hokkaido, japan using Codex to run his 100-hectare farm this guy never studied agriculture, never inherited land, started out as a civil servant. but he wanted his farm to run better, and instead of paying an engineering firm he couldn't afford, he just built the tools himself. here's what he's built on his own: > remote control of his greenhouse vents from a chat app, wired up with an esp32 board, a motor driver, and cloudflare workers > a bot that checks each greenhouse's temperature and opens the vents when it gets too hot > satellite crop-health data laid over a map of his own fields > an airtable base linking his plots, tasks, materials, and sensors > wiring diagrams of his electrical panels, generated from a photo stuff like this used to be locked behind machinery and engineers only the big agribusinesses could pay for. but this legend just breezed past all of it with a laptop and Codex lol
