sure. it actually would be worse. It just a thing that did surprise me one day when I wanted it to render to '' - one have to handle that explicitly in code, in the end.
One th8ng that surprised me about "none" : there is no some way for it to be rendered as an empty string. Both "str" and "repr" render explicitly to "None" with 4 chars. The REPL has to special case it so that expressions resulting in None don't cause noise.
