At the San Diego Sheriff’s Office, education is at the heart of our mission—from crime prevention and community academies to youth programs and reentry services. Our Reentry Services Division (RSD) offers educational programming across all Sheriff’s facilities, combining classroom instruction with independent study to strengthen academic skills, build confidence, and open doors to future opportunities. Courses include High School Equivalency prep, Computer Literacy, and college-level classes through partnerships with Southwestern College, Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College, and Palomar College. Plus, participants can explore STEM through hands-on workshops facilitated by UC San Diego.
