Videos exploded in popularity and became a common choice over articles because it's so much easier to let someone else visually explain a concept than grinding through a long article. It still demanded focus and time, but it felt efficient. Now we're using AI to condense those videos into bite-sized text summaries we can scan in seconds. The way evolving technology keeps impacting how we consume information and ultimately how we think is genuinely fascinating. It never ceases to amaze me! But what do you think this constant race for "efficiency" is it productive or just a mask on the degrading ability to be patient and focus ? #AttentionEconomy #AITools #FutureOfLearning #AI #ImpactofAI #Learning #Productivity #DigitalMinimalism #TechEvolution #InformationOverload #SlowThinking

We have more information than any civilization in history and less wisdom than most of them. That's not a hot take. That's just math. Depressing math but math. I think about this at weird hours. Last Tuesday I was lying in bed at 1 AM and I googled "how does consciousness emerge from neural activity." Heavy stuff. Real question. The kind of question that kept Descartes up at night and has kept me up for the better part of three years while writing my novel. Google gave me 4.2 billion results in 0.43 seconds. I read none of them. Because right below the search results there was a suggested video of a guy ranking fast food chicken nuggets and I watched the whole thing. Eleven minutes. Every second. The Wendy's spicy nuggets won and honestly he made some compelling points. Then I closed my phone and stared at the ceiling and thought: I have access to the entire accumulated knowledge of human civilization in my pocket and I just spent eleven minutes watching a man eat nuggets on camera while the question that's supposed to be the foundation of my next chapter sat there unanswered. This is the species that's building artificial intelligence. This is who's in charge. A bunch of primates who can access every paper ever published and every book ever written and every lecture ever recorded and choose the nugget video. Every time. I'm not judging anybody because I am everybody. I'm the guy. I'm the nugget watcher. I'm the one with the entire Library of Alexandria plus every library that came after it sitting in my pocket while I watch a stranger rank fried chicken for engagement metrics. But here's what bugs me and it bugs me more every year. We confused access with understanding. Somewhere along the way we decided that having information available was the same as having it processed. Like buying a book is the same as reading it. Like reading it is the same as understanding it. Like understanding it is the same as letting it change you. It's not. None of those things are the same. They're not even close. I have a shelf in my apartment in Queens. Two shelves actually. Full of books I bought with every intention of reading. Philosophy. Neuroscience. Consciousness studies. Some of them I've read. Some I've started. Some I've owned for four years and the spine is still uncracked and they sit there looking at me every morning like a row of patient teachers waiting for a student who keeps skipping class. That shelf is a physical monument to the gap between access and wisdom. The books are there. The knowledge is there. What's missing is the thing that turns knowledge into understanding: time. Slow, boring, uncomfortable time. The kind of time where you sit with one idea for an hour and let it push back against everything you thought you knew. Where you read a paragraph and then stare out the window for twenty minutes not because you're distracted but because something in that paragraph rearranged a piece of your interior and you need to let the dust settle before you keep going. Nobody does that anymore. I barely do it and I'm a writer whose entire job is thinking slowly about things. My old man did it. He'd read one book at a time. One. For weeks sometimes. He'd read a chapter and then put it down and go make coffee and stand in the kitchen for fifteen minutes not doing anything and I'd say what are you doing and he'd say thinking. Just thinking. Like it was a normal activity. Like standing in a kitchen processing an idea was a legitimate use of a Tuesday afternoon. It was. It was maybe the most legitimate use of a Tuesday afternoon there is. But try explaining that to anyone under 40 who's been trained by the feed to process information at the speed of scrolling and discard it at the speed of the next notification. Wisdom isn't information. Wisdom is what happens when information meets experience meets time meets the willingness to be wrong. To sit with something uncomfortable. To let an idea challenge your identity. To read something that contradicts what you've believed for years and instead of closing the tab and finding something that agrees with you, to stay. To sit there. To let it hurt. That's wisdom. And it takes forever. And it doesn't scale. And there's no app for it. And the nugget video is right there and it's eleven minutes and it's easy and it doesn't require you to change anything about who you are. I wrote a novel about artificial intelligence and consciousness. Took me two years. And the thing that made it hard wasn't the research. Research is easy now. Google gives you everything. The hard part was sitting with the questions long enough for them to become real. Long enough for them to stop being interesting and start being uncomfortable. Long enough for the answers I thought I had to fall apart and leave me with better questions that I still can't answer. That process can't be optimized. Can't be accelerated. Can't be outsourced to a machine that processes faster than me. Because the slowness is the point. The struggle is where the understanding lives. Speed past it and you get information. Sit with it and you might, might, get something that lasts. At 3 AM when the videos stop and the feed goes quiet and it's just you and the ceiling and the weight of everything you consumed today but didn't digest. That's when you feel it. The gap. Between knowing things and understanding them. It's a big gap. Getting bigger every year. And filling it with more information just makes it wider. The only thing that fills it is time. And time is the one thing nobody wants to spend on anything that doesn't produce a visible result in under thirty seconds. My old man standing in the kitchen thinking about a book for fifteen minutes. That's the most radical act I can imagine in 2026. And he's been gone for years and I still can't do it as well as he did. Working on it though. Between nugget videos. #NoahDaren #WisdomVsInformation #3AMThoughts #QueensNY #WritingLife #ThoseWhoCameFromTheCode #SlowThinking #NuggetVideo #SciFi #RealTalk #TheGap

Visual impact. That explains everything now. If it doesn’t hit the nerves in 0.2 seconds, people scroll away. Maybe the age of slow reading is over. If you made it this far, you’re probably like me. Still reading slowly. Still thinking. Right? #SlowThinking #DigitalEra

A very promising training-free & model-agnostic framework that uses latent steering vectors to control model reasoning behaviors. Super useful for enhancing reasoning, aligning behavior, and even understanding model mechanisms. Beautifully said! The image of the sunrise paired with your words on a still mind truly resonates. In a world of constant rush, embracing silence and slow thinking feels like a gift. Studies even show meditation can cut stress by 30%—proof of the power of dhyana. Thanks for this reminder to pause and reflect! #Mindfulness #Dhyana #SlowThinking

Bonne lecture. Forget empathy, it is all about individuality and autonomy! Part 2 Order my book I³ today on Amazon: a.co/d/eoAibNx Our culture screams to have love and empathy for certain people, but the actions people take to achieve that empathy has no logic or reason! It is honestly insane.
