Deere, acquired Sentera, a leader in high-resolution agricultural imagery, to enhance its technology for farmers. The integration with John Deere’s Operations Center allows real-time field monitoring, boosting profitability, efficiency, and sustainability.
Sentera’s cameras, compatible with most drones, capture detailed field images, processed by FieldAgent software to detect issues like weeds or plant stress. Its SMARTSCRIPT Weeds feature creates targeted herbicide prescriptions, reducing waste. The technology also analyzes stand counts, diseases, and pests, aligning with Deere’s goal of improving farm efficiency.
Sentera’s CEO, Brian Wenngatz, emphasized the partnership’s value in delivering scalable tools. Wall Street analysts rate DE stock as a Moderate Buy, with an average price target of $535.14.
