Yet thousands upon thousands of ready caravans, designated for Gaza, are sitting on the Egyptian side of the border, and the occupation has refused to allow a single one in — not during the ceasefire, and not at any other time. Tents cannot protect us in winter. These fabric shelters sit under the sun for months, and by the time winter begins, they are already worn out and falling apart. So the question remains: where are the sponsors and mediators of this agreement? Why aren’t they fulfilling their responsibility toward a population that is still living mostly in tents?
