Life is still strange! Here's the old caption:
It is SO EASY to take life for granted, to get sucked into the routine and the cycles and completely miss the fact that we’re sentient, carbon-based monkeys (apes, I know) on a spinning rock hurtling around an exploding ball of gas, being dragged through space.
Whatever you believe, it’s nice to take a break every few hours to reflect on how absurd this whole thing is. It isn’t that nothing matters — actually, everything matters a whole hell of a lot more than you would ever imagine — it’s just matters for very different reasons than we would ever believe.
So, take a moment to appreciate the bizarre beauty. For instance, you’re carrying around a whole little ecosystem of gut bacteria: trillions of little single cell organisms working dutifully around the clock in symbiotic cooperation to help you digest and process nutrients from everything you dump down the hatch. They ask nothing, and they have no say in what shows up. They just “chomp” away at it all, and sometimes release some gas the powers the burps that remind you and your friends that they’re still there.
Isn’t that fucking WEIRD!?
I hope the robots never replace us.
