We need your help! If you/someone you support has been in hospital/care/nursing home/hospice or mental health unit since April 2024 pls could you take our very short, anonymous, survey on visiting/being able to offer support. Thank you #GloriasLaw#RightsForResidents@JohnCampaigndocs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F…
I was at a meeting this week where use of 'temporary escalation spaces' & long waits were being discussed. We talked about how distressing this is for both staff and patients, esp ppl with dementia and their carers. We cannot let this type of 'care' be normalised. @HealthwatchE
'Unsafe, undignified, unacceptable' - mandatory reporting of corridor care is just the first step. Family carers have a short term role mitigating its worst effects & a vital longer term role supporting the RCN in its campaign for better johnscampaign.org.uk/post/co… via @JohnCampaign
Come and join us! Still time to apply for this digital inclusion role @CarersLeeds We have exciting #digital plans for 2025 so come and be a part of it! #unpaidcarers#leeds#jobs
I've lost two friends recently to suicide because they fell through gaps in the mental health system. Scrapping the commitment to invest in mental health will mean even more lives are lost in a system that is already creaking under ever growing demand @HWLeeds @hannahhwl
Health is not a medical issue, it’s a social & political issue. If we want 2 enhance health & wellbeing we need 2 relocate authority from the institutional world of programmes & services to living communities where interdependence is found.
There is a real savagery to online exclusion. An elderly family friend is admitting himself to a care home because he isn't able to cope with online banking, phone services etc. He is an intelligent and capable man, but he lives alone, without family or friends near him
This is why I am a @johncampaign ambassador and am campaigning for #GloriasLaw. These could have been the words of my mum. She didn't have dementia but she did have cognitive impairments and delerium sometimes which meant hospital could be a very scary place to be on your own.
Please re-Tweet this reason why hospitals must allow family caregivers to be present when people with #Alzheimers disease and other forms of #dementia are being evaluated or receiving treatment and care.
Please fill this in even if you did it in the last couple of years. This information is really helpful to show how things are staying the same or changing for carers in Leeds
If you are an #unpaidcarer aged 16 in #Leeds please complete this year's annual #carers survey. I promise you, we put the info to good use to improve @CarersLeeds service and influence others. It takes 10 mins & you could win a £25 voucher. Thanks and please share widely!

The promise of the above is to unleash power, creativity, innovation & resources now rather than become locked in to the idea of reform being contingent on growth & spending. Social care isn’t just under resourced, it’s under-imagined.
Time to open up the ‘possibility space’
‘Both views in medical relationships – patients’ depth of “lived” experience, and doctors’ breadth of “learned” experience – need to be respected and valued. This may reap many potential benefits, including quicker and more accurate diagnoses’ @PatientsAssoc@lgoodbu
