So social emotional learning is twirling in its new tutu across Utah in the form of The Dignity Index, which scores schoolkids & adults on the “correctness” of their speech A short 🧵 on how *conservative* Utah is ground zero for making Chinese-Marxist speech policing go viral

Replying to @JonHaidt
Hello Jonathan Haidt, you don’t know me but allow me to give you some context. I have been exposing the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) for 7 years. I have attended their conferences, webinars & even taken their certification requirements to expose them. ASCA partnered with the Southern Poverty Law Center to implement the SPLCs Behavior & Mindset standards into all 50 states & they promote CAIR’s education guidelines. Additionally, ASCA believes that children can consent to child mutilation services & it is their ethical duty to keep this life altering decision from parents UNLESS the child gives the counselor permission to notify their parent. ASCA has found a way to exploit vulnerable children, usurp parental rights, & push their Marxist agenda under the guise of “mental health”. As a Social Psychologist, is this an acceptable practice on minors? Please explain why you support & sponsor ASCA. x.com/couragehabit/status/20…
Why Does The NEA Love Jonathan Haidt? @JonHaidt - you claim that cell phones are the only plausible explanation for the massive decline in children's mental & emotional health and academics. ❓We have 3 questions for you❓ 1) Why do you have an SEL organization? 2) Why are you sponsoring ASCA's 2026 (and 2024 and 2025) Annual Conference? 3) Why is the NEA featuring your book? Are you still going to move forward in sponsoring ASCA? 🟥 ASCA is the biggest purveyors of transgender ideology, pronoun enforcement, and keeping secrets from parents. 🟥 ASCA copies their Student Standards Mindsets and Behaviors directly from the SPLC. 🟥 ASCA uses school guidelines from the Islamic group CAIR. Time Stamps: 00:00 - 01:34 : Two flaws in our brain 01:39 - 04:49 : Why does Jonathan Haidt constantly say he has not heard any other theories? 05:00 - 06:28 : He founded, "Let Grow", which pushes CASEL SEL. 06:29 - 08:33 : Why does Let Grow sponsor ASCA? 08:34 - 08:41 : Challenge to Jonathan Haidt. 08:42 - 09:30 : SPLC tactic? 09:31 - 10:37 : The NEA featured The Anxious Generation? 10:38 - 11:21 : We fully encourage parents to keep their children off social media for as long as possible. 11:22 - 11:39 : Lots of responsible and engaged parents. 11:40 - 12:08 : Blaming only cell phones is irresponsible, lazy and demeaning. 12:09 - 13:56 : Republicans, we fully get why blaming an inanimate object is so attractive.

Bad Policies Hurt People Utahns in CD3 deserve a representative who will NEVER vote for these harmful policies. I would never vote to fund abortion, pediatric gender-affirming care, DEI mandates, or the “kill switch.” I would never protect the congressional hush-money slush fund or give pesticide makers immunity from the harm their products cause. And I would never support warrantless surveillance on Americans. Bad policies hurt people. That’s why I’m running, to fight for you every single day. I live here, I work here, and I have real skin in the game; my family, my business, and our shared future in Utah. No D.C. insiders. No special-interest money. Just a fighter who puts Utah families first.
Celeste gets low scores from conservative groups. I don't like the direction she is taking the Republican party. This is my summary of 5 of her votes. 1. Her vote to fund abortion, DIE, and pediatric gender affirming care, and many other measures added by senate democrats in to the appropriations bill. She could have voted with other republicans to support the Norman Amendment. 2. The Kill Switch. She voted with 57 Republicans and all 268 Democrats to fund Kill Switch research - also agains the amendment to remove funding for the Kill Switch. 3. She voted to move Nancy Mace's HR 1100 to the ethics committee rather than to support the resolution which would have disclosed the member of congress who have used taxpayer funds from the "slush fund" to silence victims. That fund was created for that exact purpose (yes, it is a real thing). 4. She voted against the amendment to remove legal immunity from Bayer and Syngenta - the manufacturer of pesticides using glyphosate. The farm bill was a good bill, this amendment made it so much better. The bill passed, despite Celeste voting against it - one of only 6 republicans to do so. 5. FISA - Maloy voted for the bill even though the amendment to require warrants to surveil Americans failed to pass. I also touch on the Trump endorsement that was given to all republican incumbents in 2025 before this race was even official. The other candidates for congress opted to minimize that endorsement for ethical reasons. Not Celeste, you have probably received a dozen mailers touting it, and with her $870,000 from the Chris Stewart Pack funded by Anthropic AI, you will see a whole lot more. Maybe that is why she is also pro data center regardless of transparency.

Educational think tanks live to make transform the "culture, structures, and pedagogies" of schools. Without the constant reinvention and expansion into the psychosocial realm they'd be out of a job. It's the perfect grift when education can shift on a dime to teach whatever philosophical fad it wants by calling it the "future."
No one objects to teens learning how to shake hands or make eye contact. But why does every effort to teach "career skills" now require measuring, scoring, digitizing, and credentialing them? That's the tell. The common thread running through modern "soft skills", "durable skills", employability skills, and Portrait-of-a-Graduate initiatives is not merely career preparation. It's psychometric infrastructure. The labels change, but the objective remains consistent: make personal traits and dispositions visible and actionable at scale. These are the same "education reform" networks that built Common Core, funded and promoted by many of the same foundations, nonprofits, and policy groups. Parents and Teachers: pay attention to what they are building. #SELisHARM @Moms4Liberty @iamlisalogan @MonicaBWilbur @NatalieJCline @JulieABehling @kellyske @EDSecMcMahon @The74 the74million.org/article/mai…

The "durable" quality of these SEL skills stems in part from them being an infinitely exploitable commodity. SEL competencies are education economy's equivalent of oil, gold, or even corn, with a few exceptions—they're a virtually limitless asset class, unusually interchangeable with one another, relatively cheap to produce, and don't hold their value except in the most politically contrived markets.

Stupid. This throws us backward, if it's wrong it's wrong and parental consent doesn't make it any more right. Parents consent to letting their kids get their junk cut off and all sorts of bad things for their kids. No, just stop it Republicans, you are not making it better.
My issue is this doesn’t go far enough It allows teachers/administrators to use a child’s “preferred” pronouns & name WITHOUT TELLING THE PARENTS as long as they don’t change it on a “school form” This reflects current Utah law so I don’t think it will change anything here

This post by @alexisence is flat-out false. Utah's HB257 wasn't a restriction on men in women's bathrooms, it was a permission slip. It's been 842 days since the Fakest Red state in the nation passed a bill that lets men be in bathrooms with women and girls. The RINOs who ran this bill or mislead the public about it are a joke. x.com/highergroundUT/status/…
It's Nov. 19th—it's been 294 days since Utah passed a bill that lets men use women restrooms. Politicians aren't letting this happen in Washington DC, what in heck is wrong, Utah? Here's how Utahns got suckered into thinking that HB257 protects women & girls — a🧵

First learned about henna tattoos visiting Berkeley in California decades ago, is that the culture being appropriated here? Hippie-bong-hobo culture? Or did the hippie-bong-hobos steal henna culture and from who? So many questions...🤔
“My sixth grade students are enjoying something from a different culture. How can I wreck their innocent fun and make them miserable social justice warriors?”

It's absolutely representational suicide. It's worse, because our own representatives sold us out. We the People have no representation anymore, we have a Stakeholderocracy and the regular public's shares are worthless.
Did you know P3 was a subsidiary of MIDA until 2024? Where do you think it went? Do you know there are lots of PIDs under MIDA. Lots of interesting stuff happening with those quasi-gov entities- or INDEPENDENT ENTITIES. Looks like the VID was used to change our form of gov.

This is an OUTRAGEOUS abuse of power! SLGOP needs to unseat this authoritarian chair who CLEARLY DOES NOT appreciate or understand what Liberty means. Maybe he should read the platform. He is a rogue chair that is accusing anyone who does not fall in line with his rule to be outsiders when he is the epitome of what he accuses those he has ousted to be. He will be gone soon and then SLCGOP can undo the great damage he has caused.

Salt Lake County GOP Chair Mike Carey has single-handedly disenfranchised thousands of Republicans voters this year. That's his legacy, he's gone scorched earth and is burning the conservative grassroots to the ground. Enjoy your AstroTurf, Salt Lake County, or whatever fakeness takes the place of the base.
Utah lost @donMiguelSLC, a strong school board candidate, and that loss should concern every Utah Republican who believes in fair elections and grassroots representation. The damage @MikeCarey4CC has done to this party is deeply troubling. A party chair should protect neutrality, encourage open debate, and give every candidate a fair playing field. Instead, we’ve witnessed the suppression of free speech, direct attacks on candidates, and a blatant disregard for impartiality. There is no need for opponents when you’re already being undermined from within your own party? Republicans deserve better. Our party should be a place where candidates are heard, delegates are respected, and the chair remains neutral. When internal power is weaponized against good candidates, the entire party pays the price. What did Salt Lake County expect from a Chair who is being sued for putting his hands down another man’s pants?

This is insane. Salt Lake County GOP chair Mike Carey has lost his ever loving mind, sabotaging State Board 5 candidate Michael Clara's campaign. Republican Michael Clara was our best shot at flipping a seat occupied by ick Queer Democrat groomer Sarah Reale. This is the craziest thing ever, this is just election interference, Carey has got to go.
As the @UtahGOP nominee for @UTBoardofEd District 5, I have withdrawn my name from the ballot due to the constant roadblocks put in my path by the @SLCountyGOP The latest event was restricting my access to GOP Party information. When I asked why my access was being restricted, Chairman @MikeCarey4CC informed me via email that it was due to, "your repeated activity that violates ... the County Party's Standard of Conduct in our bylaws". In my opinion, this act by Chairman Carey is a blatant violation of basic procedural due process rights. I have no idea what violations he is talking about. Moreover, I cannot be expected to conduct a campaign for public office against my Democratic opponent while constantly being outflanked by the leadership of my own Party. 🧵(1/2)

We can't help but think that Mike Carey's *assignment" as SLCO GOP Chair was to tank it. Or at very least go scorched earth on the grassroots to clear way for the AstroTurf. He's absolutely fracturing the party & leaving nothing but dust in his wake. It's gonna be a toxic environment for a while.
