In case you missed it, our font editor supports DesignSpace version 5.0. In other words, FontCreator can export multiple subsets of a variable font, including change of default location, discrete axes, and extrapolation.

We are currently testing upcoming improvements in FontCreator that better identify technical interpolation issues in variable fonts. So far, over 60% of the variable fonts we tested have such issues. If you have a font you're about to release, PM us and we'll test it.

We received several fonts and were able to further improve our algorithm. FontCreator now also identifies and fixes interpolation issues that are nearly impossible to detect.

The previous reduction was partly due to a bug that incorrectly compressed ligatures; sorry about that. Here is an updated version. Exports are all made with FontCreator 14.0.0.2872. Reduction is gained by removing unused glyphs and optimized storage of variation and OT features.

1994, TypeLab Paris. TypoMan (@letterror) about GX variation picker browser. 27 years later, we did not make so much progress on this subject of using sliders to get the right font instance! The biggest change was the new name: Variable Fonts?
