This is nonsense. Sir Keir Starmer has a personal mandate as an MP. He has a further mandate as the leader of the Labour Party. And he has a mandate as the person most likely to command the confidence of the House of Commons. That is why he is prime minster.

The situation in Ethiopia, Tigray and Sudan is extremely alarming. Today I called for pressure for an immediate ceasefire by all parties, urgent humanitarian assistance, and for future accountability for war crimes and notably the savage exploitation of women as weapons of war.
