ZEUS IS OUT OF TIME ๐๐จ
We honestly don't know what else to say.
This beautiful boy is still sitting there waiting, and now we are down to just days.
Zeus is a welfare case. He is still only a baby, born in August 2025. Not even a year old. While other puppies are enjoying family homes, learning about the world and sleeping safely on sofas, Zeus is facing the unthinkable.
If a rescue space isn't found, Zeus will be put to sleep.
There will be no countdown. No final warning. No last chance phone call. In the next few days we'll simply be told that Zeus is no longer there.
And that thought is absolutely breaking our hearts.
The worst part is that there is no reason for this lovely young dog to lose his life.
Zeus is a sweet-natured boy. He is human friendly, especially on a one-to-one basis. He has shown no aggression. He has been around other dogs and has not reacted badly. He is worried, confused and overwhelmed by everything that has happened to him, but he remains a gentle, loving youngster.
He doesn't deserve this.
He deserves the chance to grow up.
He deserves a warm bed, a family, toys scattered around the living room and all the things a puppy should have had from the start.
Unfortunately, without a rescue space, he cannot be released. We have explored every avenue we can think of, but without emergency boarding available and without a rescue placement, we are running out of options.
We are worried sick.
Please, if you work with a rescue, know a rescue, foster for a rescue, volunteer for a rescue, or have contacts within the rescue world, please share this post. Please tag rescues. Please help us get Zeus seen.
Somewhere out there must be a rescue with one kennel, one foster home, one space that could save this young dog's life.
We refuse to believe that a healthy, friendly puppy's story should end before it has even begun.

Reform UK announces Lee Anderson Shadow Minister for Defence (in addition to him being Chairman and Vhief Whip)
Leeโs press conference was powerful.
He said:
โIโve been speaking to people in pubs, cafรฉs and shops, and what theyโre telling me is simple.
They want tanks.
They want aircraft carriers.
They want submarines.
They want proper defence.
And they want it paid for by cancelling net zero, foreign aid, welfare, lawyers, civil servants, tofu, cycle lanes and probably oat milk.โ
When asked what his actual defence strategy was, Lee replied:
โCommon sense.โ

This makes me really sad. John Healey has always struck me as calm, experienced, competent and a real asset to the government as Defence Secretary. (Ben Wallace was, too, a few years ago) Not a good sign at all.

In the Auschwitz camp complex, the existence of a โmaternity wardโ (German: Entbindungsheim) or obstetric unit was a grim paradox resulting from the evolution of Nazi policy toward different groups of prisoners and from the economic needs of Nazi Germany.
Importantly, its existence in no way negates the existence of gas chambers used for mass murder in Auschwitz.
During the initial period of the womenโs camp, any pregnancy was effectively a death sentence for a prisoner. Pregnant women were considered unfit for work and were killed either by phenol injection or in the gas chambers. A turning point came in mid-1943 (probably in May), when, due to the enormous demand for labor, the camp authorities stopped killing pregnant non-Jewish prisoners. They were allowed to give birth so that, after a short period, they could return to forced labor.
Jewish children were murdered without exception, most often by drowning in a bucket, until the end of October 1944. From mid-1943 onward, non-Jewish children were allowed to live and were entered into the camp records as โnew arrivals,โ receiving tattooed camp numbers on their thighs or buttocks.
Most of the children who were not murdered immediately died from starvation and disease within days or weeks.

Denial of the existence of gas chambers is a disgraceful assault on the memory of all those people: Jews, Poles, Roma, Soviet prisoners of war, and all other victims. It is also a slap in the face to those prisoners who risked their lives to document and convey the truth about German crimes, as well as to the Survivors who still bear the trauma of their personal experiences.

Meh. Once upon a time in the early 90s, the plan was for all the hyper-tall office towers to go to Canary Wharf, similar to La Defense in Paris. I liked that. That plan was abandoned years ago and now itโs just anything goes, anywhere. With little structure, flow or character.

We reckon this is the tallest skyscraper ever demolished in London (118 metres). It's the old Aviva/St Helen's Tower in the City. It'll be replaced by 'One London', a boxy behemoth that'll be ever so slightly taller than the Shard

Food for thought. Women face physical, sexual & emotional violence on a grand scale, every day, around the world. Predominantly in domestic & family settings. Where is the continued outrage for these victims? Why are only the relatively few cases involving migrants talked about?
