very likely that you, or someone you know, will unintentionally share something that turns out to be false/misleading. When that happens, there are things we can do to turn our mistake into a learning opportunity. @dhudgins and I created this infographic to help kids know whatβ¦
ALT Infographic outline four best practices for what to do when you unintentionally share information that turns out to be false or misleading. The steps include: 1) taking a screenshot of the original post before deleting it. 2) Marking through it annotating the screenshot so that it isnβt reshared as factual again. 3) THEN deleting your original post, so that no one else engaged with it. 4) Share the screenshot with an explanation of what happened to help others understand that making mistakes is okay; itβs what we do next that really matters.

Hi! I'm back from my 2-week social media & news cleanse!
In 2022, I finished 10 chapters of my memoir, co-published 22 activism checklists, & offered classes on activism and storytelling.
My 2023 word is *contentment* with more play, presence, and tenacity.
How about you?
Okay y'all, today my end-of-year retreat begins. Going into full feral introvert mode.
If you see me #onhere in the next two weeks, tell me to go read a book or hike or something.
If Twitter's still here, I'll see you in the new year. ππ
Be well, y'all!
A while back, I signed up for Tr*ump emails to keep tabs on his antics.
Today, he emailed me posing as Nancy @SpeakerPelosi, urging me to "renew my 2023 Democratic membership".
The grift has no bounds.
So it looks like this actually IS from a Pelosi PAC, but the way it's designed is scammy to the Nth degree... and that's coming from a email marketer with nearly 20 years experience (me). It's gross.
Thanks for the extra legwork, @SheGrows24Seven!
I am in tears. This is so, so humane.
If you know anything about the death penalty, you know that it's barbaric and unjustly applied to marginalized communities.
I'm so grateful for and proud of my governor for this ethical act. Thank you, @OregonGovBrown.
Justice is not advanced by taking a life, and the state should not be in the business of executing peopleβ even if a terrible crime placed them in prison. Today I am commuting all death sentences in Oregon to life without parole, so we no longer have anyone facing execution here.
Tragedy unfolding on Keystone Pipeline near the Nebraska/Kansas border. What @TCEnergy will not admit is that they cannot βcleanβ this up. They will scrape the vegetation and topsoil, treat it, and haul to a landfill. Riparian (stream) damage for decade .
As midterm madness winds down, I had a chance to really peruse @inspiredjen's AoCC newsletter. So impressed at how it has become even more user-friendly w/ easy actions you can take to defend democracy & put your values into action. Check it out: americansofconscience.com/12β¦
Today, the House passed the Respect for Marriage Act β but the fight isnβt over.
With LGBTQ rights under attack across the country, we need meaningful protections for our safety, dignity, and access to healthcare. washingtonpost.com/politics/β¦
Good morning, @nytimes. We solved today's crossword for you.
ALT A crossword format shows NYTIMES intersecting with UNION and WALKS. The clues say "Company whose workers are asking for a fair contract" Answer: NYTIMES; "Journalists, designers, security guards, news assistants and more make this" Answer: UNION; and "What the union does if the NYTimes doesn't settle the contract by December 8" Answer: WALKS. The New York Times Guild logo is on the image.
In other news (that does not involve me ranting about injustice), I'm in solidarity with @nytimes union members by not reading or accessing my paid subscription today.
You can too.

If one more person splains to me how the new marriage law protects π³οΈβπ from SCOTUS overturning Obergefell, I'm gonna lose it.
π³οΈβπ folk are still not a federally protected group. Dems could have focused on passing the Equal Rights Act to address this, but they didn't.
