UPDATE: I reached the person who claims to have hacked Optus. I've also been contacted by a second, separate source who says the hacker's version of events is approximately correct. Here's what they said. #OptusHack #infosec #auspol

33 years ago today, I submitted a proposal for a system called the World Wide Web. I'd normally publish thoughts on the state of the web. But these are not normal times. Instead, @rosemaryleith & I ask you to join us to #StandWithUkraine however you can. webfoundation.org/2022/03/st…

To mark the web's birthday this year, @timberners_lee and I have donated to causes supporting women, children & journalists in Ukraine. Join us, if you can, to contribute and #StandWithUkraine. webfoundation.org/2022/03/st…

Stupid thing is...anti-corruption bodies were originally in the TOLA Bill. They were taken out in a last-minute amendment to get the bill passed the first time... on the basis they wouldn't need the powers over Christmas holidays (2019) but the anti-terror agencies might.

People have been spreading, believing & falling for bizarre ideas and scams for centuries. Used to be spread by pamphlet, leaflet, newspapers and word-of-mouth. Good that online sources make it just as easy to debunk misinformation as spread it - the medium is not the message

The #OnlineSafetyBill passed the Senate late last night. It now goes back to the House of Reps, so it's the last chance to get in contact with your MP.
If you would like to stop the #OnlineSafetyBill in its current form, now would be a good time to call your MP. Find them here: aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Memb…
