So
@SiteGround still claims IPv6 has anything to do with security, even tho they should know better. (Not to mention their overall missunderstandings of current IPv4 shortage)
Hey there, the hosting infrastructure of SiteGround is based on Google Cloud. The Google Cloud Platform does support IPv6 (this is why you can see IPv6 addresses when tracerouting to us); however, currently, IPv4 is completely sufficient both as an address space and in terms of security for the needs of the hosting industry.
This is why our systems are based on and optimized for the IPv4 protocol. This is mainly due to the still-limited adoption of IPv6 and the challenges and barriers listed in the quoted article.
Of course, the world is moving towards IPv6, and eventually, all hosting companies will adopt the protocol, but for now, SiteGround systems are working smoothly and securely on IPv4.
Regarding the article, thank you for the feedback. We will review it and make the necessary improvements for accuracy.
