The promises of platformization remain unfulfilled. Instead of improving key metrics like female labor participation, the expansion of gig work has accelerated inequalities across gender, class, geography, and race—leaving women workers more vulnerable. In the run-up to Beijing 30, we need bold, multi-level policy action to build a feminist future of work. In February 2025, IT for Change, @DAWNfeminist , and @FESonline hosted four regional consultations across Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Bringing together over 50 feminist scholars, labor rights lawyers, gender experts, and trade unionists, these discussions laid the groundwork for systemic change.
