As schools reopen for first term 2026, all road users are urged to exercise extra caution to protect learners & other vulnerable road users. Motorists should reduce speed near schools, avoid reckless overtaking, obey traffic rules & remain vigilant during morning & evening hours. Parents, schools & caregivers are encouraged to promote road safety & ensure safe transport for children. Learners should use pedestrian crossings, avoid distractions near roads & board vehicles from designated stages. Together we can make our roads safer for every child this school term. Report traffic violations via Toll-Free: 0800 199 099 or WhatsApp: 0779 999 999. #SafeKidsSafeFuture #RoadSafetyUG

Nearly 10,000 pupils reached. 12 schools engaged. Over 4,000 road safety materials distributed. Today, @itmsug launched the 'Safe Kids, Safe Future' campaign report, highlighting critical gaps in road safety for school-going children. These include limited pedestrian infrastructure, inadequate road signage, and the urgent need for continuous road safety education. All that said, road safety is still a collective responsibility, therefore, all partners need to continue advocating for safer school zones across Uganda. @M_Kananura @turyarugayostev @PoliceUg @Educ_SportsUg @MoWT_Uganda @KCCAUG
