The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Claude, Codex and Cursor will converge on an identical UI, and their underlying models will be marginally different. They are all going to win. It's not like Yahoo, Msn, and Google. C-C-C make most of their revenue with enterprises, it will NOT be a winner-takes-it-all situation

it's become "cool" to shit on products what makes you say that GCal is a "shit" product? GCal has over 500 million active users, it's serving the mass market, and it's an insanely complex product It never breaks PLUS a 10 year old and a 90 year old can use it similarly well
no matter what calendar app i try i always end up going back to google calendar's web view. it's shit but in more tolerable ways than the others

we added a Codex hook so every task completion plays a frog sound. Cursor has been doing this forever, but openai somehow never added it. code moving much faster now and less context switches

put it into your ~/.codex/hooks.json file here: { "hooks": { "on_complete": [ { "id": "frog-completion-alert", "action": "play_sound", "sound": "frog" } ] } }

Here’s your monthly reminder that you shouldn’t be prompting coding agents anymore. You should be designing loops that prompt your agents.

I really dislike the idea of autonomous companies trying to replace founders with AI. But that’s probably how knowledge workers felt when they realized AI was coming for their jobs lol

This is the exact same reason German car manufacturers will bounce back. Tesla is competing the shit out of them
Competition with China might be the best thing to happen to America since the cold war. We’ve been leading the world for so long, but we got a bit complacent. Competition breeds excellence.

The most important component of writing clearly is simply to have high standards for clarity. Then if you write something unclear, you notice, and ask: what did I mean to say? You can just keep doing this over and over. And if you have high standards for clarity, you will.
