Just a note that water samplers still need to confirm with data whether this is red tide — and just how strong it’s blooming Sampling was paused because of the storm but will be picking back up today. We’re all curious what the results will show
Ughhh just what we needed. Red tide is back and it's a bad bloom. These outbreaks are common after hurricanes (this time 2 #Helene & #Milton) because they upwell nutrients from the deeper/ cooler Gulf bottom feeding algae blooms. Related article on Irma features.miami.edu/2018/are-…
