The bill also prohibits local govs from giving $ to organizations with net-zero goals. One Dem lawmaker said the city of Ft Lauderdale reached out to ask if it was still OK they get their electricity from FPL, since it has established carbon emissions reduction plans.
NEW: The Florida Legislature have approved a bill to ban local governments/schools from adopting net-zero policies, where the goal is to offset the planet-warming greenhouse gases they emit into the atmosphere. tampabay.com/news/environmen…

I was a little surprised when I learned that so many local county pet shelters were not air-conditioned -- then again, maybe not. Cool to see that people come together when the pups really need it, though. Good story from @Michaela_Mull @cliftimestweet tampabay.com/news/environmen…

.@NOAA just increased the chances for an “above normal” hurricane season For now, it’s quiet in the Atlantic. No tropical cyclone formation is expected in the next 7 days, per @NHC_Atlantic Use that extra time to prepare for peak season tampabay.com/hurricane/2023/… w/@Michaela_Mull
