10 years ago, I thought "programming is too hard, I'll make tools to make it easier" 5 years ago, I thought "I'll make a new language to make it easier" now I'm working on tools to make "making new languages" easier 😂

I came across plim by @darylcecile and couldn't resist integrating it with my new block-rich-text CRDT 😄 very helpful in fleshing out my own API surface

ok I think I've really got this working. - rich text CRDT (peritext-based) - movable blocks with split & join, retaining provenance and collaborative editing - strong cycle prevention both for split/join and block nesting annnd just for fun I've also got multicursor in the demo

try it out here! block-crdt.quick.jaredforsyt… If you manage to find broken/surprising behavior, I'd love to hear about it.

Introducing Zero The programming language for agents. I wanted a systems language that was faster, smaller, and easier for agents to use and repair. Explicit capabilities. JSON diagnostics. Typed safe fixes. Made for agents on day zero.

One of my “go to” lines for years has been that the sign of success for a country isn’t that poor people drive cars, but that rich people ride the subway…
BYD CEO Wang Chuanfu worth $23B taking the Beijing subway to the Beijing auto show BYD worth nearly $1 trillion How many billionaires do you see on the subway these days 👀

this idea is mostly a paraphrase of @hankgreen's video youtube.com/watch?v=dT5IJExT…

Replying to @mholt6
the value of anything that is mass producible quickly falls to that of its raw utility, and things that are non-utilitarian (fashion, art, media) have most of their value tied up in novelty/uniqueness/"human touch" and so the value collapses entirely

JUST IN: The President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Archbishop Paul Coakley, has issued a statement saying: “The threat of destroying a whole civilization and the intentional targeting of civilian infrastructure cannot be morally justified. … I call on President Trump to step back from the precipice of war and negotiate a just settlement for the sake of peace and before more lives are lost.” usccb.org/news/2026/archbish…

- Drafted a blog post - Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours. - Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing! - Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite. - LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true. - lol The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.

My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces): I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

I built a procedural medieval island map generator using Wave Function Collapse on hex grids. 4,100 cells, 900 possible states per cell, 60fps on mobile. Wrote up the whole process with lessons learned. Links below 👇 #threejs #webgpu

You can enroll in my animation course for the next 10 days! It's the perfect way to learn the theory behind great animations, but also how to build them in code. Now with a skill file for agents. We'll cover all of these components and more, source code included.
