Our paper on isobutanol/isopentanol biosensor in yeast is finally out: nature.com/articles/s41467-0…. No longer screening in the dark for strains to produce these biofuels. Kudos to @yan_fei_zhang @JeremyCortez3, Sarah Hammer, @Ceslopezg, Sergio Garcia-Echauri for their awesome work.

Molecular tools that can switch on and off with light. @javalosLAB @toettch and team have developed a class of light-switchable "OptoBinders" to control cellular processes. One potential application includes improved production of biofuels.
