With a rare clear sky over the Great Lakes, its a great opportunity to see what areas of Michigan have snow on the ground and what areas do not! Another thing to notice is the incredible lack of ice cover over the lakes. #miwx

A tiny asteroid harmlessly lit up the sky in Canada on Nov. 19 – and astronomers saw it coming. It was detected 3.5 hours before impact, and then @NASA’s Scout impact hazard assessment system calculated where and when it would enter Earth’s atmosphere. go.nasa.gov/3GDaO2Y
ALT The sky at night is shown with a lot of cloud cover. Toward the bottom of the image are pine trees stretching out into the grayish-dark blue sky. On the center-right side of the image is a bright white line that has a teal-colored outline. This streak of light across the sky is a tiny asteroid that harmlessly entered Earth's atmosphere. To the very right of the image toward the bottom half, a partially full moon with a C-shape over the top half can be seen over a twiggy, bare tree.
