Tanzanian Delegation Participates in the Opening of the 22nd Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
The Tanzanian delegation, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, participated in the opening of the 22nd Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting currently taking place in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The meeting was officially opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe, Prof. Amon Murwira, who emphasized the importance of diplomatic solidarity and economic cooperation between African and Nordic countries. He further highlighted that this year’s meeting aims to promote the use of innovation and technology in building sustainable communities.
The first day of the meeting featured several discussion forums. Among these was the Africa-Nordic Business Forum, which explored ways to achieve sustainable prosperity through cooperation and risk mitigation in business.
Additionally, the Youth Innovation Forum sparked discussions on the role of young people as catalysts for sustainable development through technology and social cohesion. The Scholars’ Forum also examined the theme “From Aid to Trade,” underscoring the importance of transitioning from aid-based models to mutually beneficial trade partnerships.
In the “From Aid to Trade” forum, Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, H.E. Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, emphasized the need to ensure that the value of Africa’s resources benefits the continent and drives sustainable development for its citizens.
Tanzania’s participation in this meeting reinforces the implementation of economic diplomacy aimed at enhancing trade, investment, and international cooperation for the benefit of Tanzanians.
