This morning, @WHO Director General, @DrTedros held a meeting with the Ministry of Health senior technical team led by Permanent Secretary, @DianaAtwine and Director General Health Services, @olaro_charles to understand the #Ebola situation in the country. Dr. Tedros appreciated the commitment from the Government of Uganda in responding to Ebola, “You have the experience and you can do it” he added. He called for Uganda to support DRC in responding to this outbreak. The Permanent Secretary, @DianaAtwine noted that Uganda is supporting the outbreak in DRC by deploying health workers and setting up 50 bed treatment units, this week. She added that two mobile laboratories have already been set up in Bwera and Arua to support DRC testing and diagnostics. #MOHatWork | #FightEbolaUG26

I am in #Uganda, where the government has mounted a prompt and capable response to the outbreak of #Ebola. Screening at the borders helped detect cases arriving from neighbouring #DRC, and the country’s surveillance, testing and case management systems are doing steady work. Of the 19 confirmed cases so far, 14 were among people who entered from DRC and five are Ugandan nationals. Sadly, two people from DRC have died, and our thoughts are with their families. @WHO is supporting Uganda, alongside @AfricaCDC and partners across the region, as the country leads this response. With continued collaboration, I am confident this outbreak can be brought under control.

Current Ebola update as of 5 June 2026 Four patients have successfully recovered and been discharged. The 3 new cases were contacts to confirmed cases who have been in institutional quarantine by the Ministry of Health. Unfortunately, one person, a Congolese national passed on. May her soul rest in eternal peace. The country remains safe and open for all. #MOHatWork | #FightEbolaUG26

Protesters set a hospital on fire in DR Congo amid an Ebola outbreak, after a family disputed the virus caused their relative’s death and demanded custody of the body. Health authorities warn the latest outbreak of Ebola ‘is not small’ and requires ‘all hands on deck’.

Uganda is distancing itself from the Ebola outbreak in the DRC, pointing out that the 2 confirmed cases are both Congolese nationals. Why are there so many Ebola outbreaks in Congo? Some people eat fruit bats, experts say

An Australian delegation just spent time in Uganda’s highlands. Now they’re questioning what “premium travel” actually means. Because real luxury may no longer be marble hotels and infinity pools. It may be: • Silence before sunrise. • Walking through ancient forests. • Drinking coffee with the people who grew it. • Watching elephants at the water’s edge without another vehicle in sight. The most valuable destinations of the future will be the ones that still feel alive. Uganda is not just a destination. It is an experience that stays with you long after you leave. Plan your journey. Explore Uganda. @UgandaMediaCent @mia_uga @JulzKagwa #VisitUganda #ExploreUganda #LuxuryTravelExperience #AfricanAdventure #WildlifeSafari #TravelBucketList #NatureRetreat

Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, greetings.   After consultations with the national epidemic response task force and religious leaders, we have decided to postpone the Martyrs' Day to a later date, which will be communicated.   This decision was made because Uganda receives thousands of pilgrims annually from Eastern Congo, which is currently experiencing an Ebola outbreak. To safeguard everyone's lives, it is essential that this important event be postponed.   I encourage those who had begun their journey to return home, continue observing the precautionary measures, report anyone who is sick, and encourage those who are ill to seek medical care.   We regret any inconvenience caused, but the protection of life must come first.   Signed: Yoweri K. Sabastian Sawe didn't break the 2-hour marathon barrier just because of the Adidas "supershoe." He's a damn good athlete. These East Africans all are. I had to tell the whole world on CNN. Everyone be guided. Thanks for your attention to this matter!

DerrickSsenyonyi, every time you release something new, it feels like Africa takes one step closer to owning its story again. Back to the Source, The Nile isn’t just a film, it’s a reminder that when Africans hold the camera, the world sees a different truth. Your lens doesn’t just film Africa, it reveals its soul. And as always, Rwanda is ready for you. The hills keep a special place for those who love Africa this deeply. 🇷🇼🏔️

The Ugandan prison system beats all the logic of a prison system elsewhere. As many prisoners in neighboring countries or even in Europe never leave their cells & wards, Uganda prisons is unique that these guys have freedom inside prison to play music and shake up a bit, play soccer, attain artisanal skills, continue with the normal education curriculum system and others. @jbyabs How do you do it. Anyway, With the copyright law now in place, who does @YkeeBenda demand his money from here, the prison system or the prisoners 😂😂
