Disappointing to see these new findings from @CommunityCare - shows how engrained this negative public perception belief is amongst social workers. Not surprising with it so consistently rammed down our throats by media/policy networks (without evidence). communitycare.co.uk/2025/01/…

Social workers, this is the MOST important thing for us to remember… 💛 Let us know if you agree! What are the barriers to clear, empathic, and compassionate child protection services?

Social workers, let’s share our knowledge and insights with other practitioners — How do you ensure you practice with compassion and empathy in situations of tension, disagreement or even in the face of abuse? This is a challenge we all face in child safeguarding.

Seeing so many people deliberate about deleting their X account. I understand it but I don’t agree. Strong political views are part of the world we live in. Stay here and continue to speak up and advocate for the things you believe in! Even if it’s difficult or you face a lot of opposition. That’s when it’s most important surely. What are your thoughts?

I’ve asked the Minister of Health to outline his plans and meetings with unions to address pay and working conditions for social workers. Social workers play a vital role in safeguarding our communities across all sectors – they deserve fair pay and safe working conditions.

Always stick to what makes you weird, odd, strange, different. That’s your source of power.

Tip 3: If you’re a leader — be kind, but clear. When setting boundaries, you can say, “I really value your work, but I need us to stick to deadlines for everyone’s benefit.” Being kind and direct strengthens trust and respect.

Setting boundaries doesn’t push people away – it creates healthier connections and gives clarity. You’re allowed to articulate your wants and needs — in your personal and professional life! When you do so, you can expect to see your confidence and self-esteem soar 😊
