The best teachers will be LLMs. The best feedback will be monetary. The best models will train competitively. The best AI company will be co-owned. The best software will be open source. And there is only one way to get all of it.

CRAZY: THE US GOVERNMENT'S BAN ON CLAUDE MYTHOS 5 IS PUMPING THIS AI ALTCOIN. Bittensor $TAO just jumped 26%. The US government issued an export control directive forcing Anthropic to disable its most powerful models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, worldwide. Investors are rotating into decentralized AI. Networks like Bittensor don't depend on a single company or a single government's approval. No central kill switch. When centralized AI gets restricted, decentralized AI gets the bid.

Access to intelligence should not depend on a handful of companies or governments. This is why open, decentralized, permissionless AI matters. This is why Bittensor matters.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

The US Government has given #Bittensor the best endorsement it could ever ask for They proved the entire thesis for why we need permissionless and decentralised AI Anthropic were forced by the Government to suspend access to Fable and Mythos models for any foreign nationals.. It doesn't matter what you think of Anthropic morals.. what the Governments reasons were.. whether the model was dangerous or not.. The point is.. Closed AI can be switched off We’ve been banging this drum in #bittensor for four years now If frontier intelligence can be restricted.. it will be restricted.. If access can be gatekept.. it will 100% be gatekept If a small group of powerful men and women can decide who gets intelligence and who doesn’t.. they will absolutely use that power This is exactly why bittensor:native matters Intelligence is just too important to have it sit behind permissioned walls controlled by governments and corporations #Bittensor is the fight against this.. Open.. permissionless.. incentivised True open intelligence built by the people.. for the good of the people This Anthropic news is proof that those fears are no longer theoretical.. This shit is real.. the door just got slammed The pure reason #bittensor exists.. is so the world has another one to walk through bittensor:native

If you're not American, you lost access to Fable 5 yesterday. Not for anything you did. For what you are: a "foreign national." Friday, 5:21pm ET. A U.S. government export-control directive ordered Anthropic to cut off access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models for every foreign national — wherever they are, including its own non-American employees. The direct consequence: to comply, Anthropic had to disable both models for *all* of its customers. Overnight. The company publicly disputed the decision, calling it a "misunderstanding." It complied anyway. It had no choice. And that's exactly where the lesson is. This isn't an indictment of Anthropic. It's a demonstration of architecture. When frontier capability is concentrated behind one company, in one jurisdiction, a single letter on a Friday evening is enough to switch it off for hundreds of millions of people. The single point of control becomes a single point of failure. Permissionless, distributed AI isn't a fantasy for idealists. It's an engineer's answer to a structural fragility: no central kill switch, no sovereignty outsourced to a foreign regulator, no dependence on the political weather of a single country. Let's be honest: decentralizing doesn't remove the safety question. It redistributes it. The real debate isn't "powerful AI OR safe AI." It's *where* control should sit — and who holds the switch. Yesterday, the answer was: in Washington, at 5:21pm. The question, for Europe and for anyone building on this infrastructure, is whether that's an acceptable answer. @opentensor @const_reborn we are moving on, institutional talent is now coming to grow this ecosystem, let's accelerate, now. #AI #DecentralizedAI #DigitalSovereignty #AIGovernance #Bittensor

Decentralized, permissionless, uncensored AI running on crypto plumbing is probably the most important battle arena of the next five years. Actions like today’s are eye openers for many, but we knew. We knew governaments, technocrats, big companies where hoarding compute, talent, resources. A more and more centralized and dystopian future where social divide is even more prominent. Where access to frontier models is stonewalled. It gives crypto once again a mission. A clear flag to carry. The 0 to 1 moment is happening this year. Things will only accelerate going forward.

The miners did this. We benchmarked Score 'Skills' against foundation models and frontier chat VLMs under the fairest protocol we could design. Result → alone on the accuracy-latency Pareto frontier, near real time on a laptop-class CPU, while frontier models need a datacentre to do worse. The incentive mechanism works. The frontier moves on Bittensor $TAO.

"@webuildscore is just marketing" n=280 frames, 95% cluster-bootstrap CIs, ignore regions masked, p95 latency on a 4-thread i5, no gpu we even scored the VLMs on F1 instead of mAP to give them their best shot handicapped ourselves to be fair. still alone in the top-left. highest accuracy, near real time, on cpu the pareto frontier doesn't lie

That is what we are building, and the miners on our subnet are the engine. The incentive mechanism turned an open, adversarial competition into a model that beats the giants at its job. Point the same mechanism at the next task and it does it again.
