# The Cost of Capitulation: How the West Handed Islam a Historic Victory
There is no point sugarcoating it. We are witnessing a profound civilizational shift: Islam versus the West, and Islam has won. This outcome was preventable, but now, in the eyes of the Islamic world, the West proved too weak, too distracted by short-term economics, and too easily manipulated to give up long-term survival.
The Trump administration’s actions toward Iran, America, and the world amount to an unforgivable betrayal of trust. This is especially true for the 90 million Iranians promised “help is on the way,” who were encouraged to risk their lives protesting the regime only to be abandoned. It is unsurprising that a bizarre coalition cheers this betrayal: the far-left, the isolationist right, globalist bureaucrats, and Islamist despots. The list speaks volumes:
* **Bernie Sanders** & **Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)**
* **Tucker Carlson** & **Joe Kent**
* **Emmanuel Macron** & **Keir Starmer**
* **Friedrich Merz** & **António Guterres**
* **Zohran Mamdani** & **Shehbaz Sharif**
* The regimes of **Qatar**, **Turkey (Erdogan)**, and the **Islamic Republic of Iran**
For Arab states, events unfolded perfectly. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was especially concerned about what would happen if 90 million Iranians became a modern secular country right next door. It was important for him to keep the Islamic regime in power in Iran. They watched the United States strike Iran while Tehran absorbed the blows but eventually emerged stronger because of the West’s inherent weaknesses. They now see Iran as their ultimate weapon—a regional champion committed to destroying Israel as part of the broader Islamic conquest of the West. In their worldview, the world is divided between Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb. Israel stands as the first obstacle; once removed, the path opens to subjugating Europe and the West.
We must face reality rather than diplomatic talking points. Support for the ceasefire is not about lasting peace. Proponents claim Iran will restrain its proxies, but the network of radical groups extends far beyond Hamas and Hezbollah. When those groups attack and Israel responds, the media and global leaders will blame Israel while ignoring the initial aggression — as seen when Trump reportedly told Netanyahu : "stop attacking Lebanon".
Western naval strikes and blockades achieved nothing of lasting value. Traditional deterrence does not work against ideologically driven jihadists who care nothing for short-term economic stability. There is no way to make lasting deals with an ideology that views agreements only as temporary pauses to regain strength before renewing the attack. This mirrors the 628 Hudaybiyyah Treaty, when Muhammad signed a ten-year truce with Mecca while weak, only to break it and conquer the city once stronger.
This moment is extremely dangerous. Every terrorist group is now emboldened, convinced it can wage jihad without consequence. The deal is an illusion. The United States and Europe have handed radical Islam a historic victory.
For Israel, the consequences will be harshest. The nation faces isolation in an existential fight for survival while Western isolationists celebrate the chaos they helped unleash. This precedent will only encourage further pressure on Israel to cede land.
Believing this arrangement brings peace requires denying reality. It guarantees a broader and more devastating conflict ahead.
