I noticed again Friedman points out about players not in this "leadership group" not being consulted. And Agents of those players being concerned about the hire and saying their other players will probably avoid the Oilers.
So again you ask why are you making this hire harder?

The problem with Babcock is he always thinks his actions are overblown and he is being portrayed as a bd guy that he isn't.

Later on, RE Babock: "Does he want to subject himself to whatever this investigation ends up looking like? Does he want to participate? I do know that he feels…I get the sense that what happened in Columbus was unfortunate, but the way it's being portrayed might be overblown, and perhaps going through an investigation could show that. One thing I didn't see brought up enough after 32 thoughts is @FriedgeHNIC brought up agents of other players on the team and players that could be moved to Edmonton might have concerns about the Babcock hire.

I think I suggested picking him up from Chicago to help a third line.

To fix the mess of the start of this off season. Clean up the top of the org. Hire Mike Gillis as POHO and Tyler Dellow as GM. The owner also needs to step back from making decisions.
At around the same time, Tyler Dellow was appearing on the Lowdown before he got a gig with the Oilers. I wonder if he gets a GM job of his own in the next year or so. 2/3

NHL pissed off they are doing this during the Cup. NHLPA pissed off they are trying to put this on the players when we know it is the owner. What a mess. I am not even sure how you course correct at this point.

Also said there is no timeline...
"We asked the NHL to do an investigation before they hire a coach... they've agreed. I haven't talked to the commissioner in a couple days now. I'm going to see him a little bit tonight here...waiting to see what the investigation has happens with the investigation, but we'll see what happens when it's over."

On the Oilers/Mike Babcock situation... NHLPA Executive Director Marty Walsh tells us on @SiriusXMNHL just a few minutes ago said that the "managers and owners hire head coaches, not the players." Adds the NHL is now going through their investigation, no timeline has been set.
