I’m excited to announce that I'm recruiting a PhD student in Human-Centered Computing (HCC) at @UMBC! If you're passionate about building AI systems, the future of work, or community-engaged research, apply to our HCC PhD program! Why UMBC, you ask? Let me tell you! (1/5)
Well, we made it to Rome 👌 A fifth Grand Tour podium and one of my proudest. Of course we came here to win, but sometimes you have to hold up your hands to greatness. It’s an honour to race against Tadej. Chapeau mate, and chapeau Dani 🎩 #Giro#grazie
Well that was probably the most I’ve ever suffered on my birthday! Been a long hard race, but proud to make the podium again. Feeling every one of my 38 years now 🤣 Cheers everyone 🍻 #Giro
Happy to present banana 🍌 pangenome using @nanopore duplex data at #nanoporeconf The insights obtained help in breeding new varieties that are resistant to Fusarium Tropical Race 4 (TR4) and Black Sigatoka. Thanks @RengsWillem for the assemblies and comparisons.
I started to do bioinformatics 20 years ago. During this period I analyzed data that required very expensive machines to be generated. Today we are sequencing two Human Genomes (and epigenomes) with a 10k Euro device. The future of genomics is disruptive! @nanopore@UNI_FIRENZE
I always walk away w/an even deeper sense of appreciation & awe of the tech advancements in genomics from @sergekoren’s teaching. Also, the inconvenient repeats? They matter! We need T2T, a lot of them (see completeness & representation biases) @isagofficial@genomeark#ISAG2023
Justice, Equity, Diversity &Inclusion conversations are uncomfortable to have, but they are important and necessary. Thank you @SadyePaez and Prof Mapholi Ntanga for your courage to bring these topics to the table! #ISAG@Unisa
