Today, I was pleased to recognize the four members of caucus who won't be seeking re-election after their current term: @joececiyyc , @luanne_metz, @MarlinSchmidtAB, and @LoriSigurdson.
They have given decades to public service — a finance minister who steered Alberta through an oil price collapse, a neurologist shaping the future of public health care, an advanced education minister who froze tuition to keep school within reach, and a seniors and housing minister who delivered Alberta's first affordable housing strategy.
Their contributions, in and out of the Legislature, have made a lasting difference in the lives of Albertans, and we are grateful for their service in building a better future for us all.
On behalf of our entire caucus: thank you.
Premier Danielle Smith is asked if she will commit to @CorbLund 's referendum question word for word.
She says Lund checked the legislative option box so it will go to a committee like the Forever Canada petition to decide what happens.
This should never have happened. My heart and thoughts are with the loved ones of the person who died, and all Albertans living with a disability.
Every Albertan deserves a life of dignity. But this government is always more focused on scoring political points than considering the real-world impacts of their decisions, like this forced transition from AISH to ADAP.
The government must change course. They can stop this dangerous transition, develop a better program, and treat all Albertans living with a disability with the respect they deserve.

The UCP know Mintz’s position is pro-separatism. And that’s his right to have that wrong belief. But why would he be handed this role unless the UCP want the separatist referendum to pass?
NEW:
UCP announces Jack Mintz will lead independent panel to determine the costs of separation.
Other members include Ted Morton, Adam Legge, Alex Pourbais and Janice MacKinnon.
Final report is expeceted late summer.
Danielle Smith appointed Jack Mintz to a panel making the economic case to remain in Canada. The same Jack Mintz who said Alberta has more reason to Albexit than Britain did for Brexit.
It’s just another example of Danielle Smith emboldening and empowering the very people who want to tear our country apart.

BREAKING: Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi says he has written to CSIS requesting transparency, regular updates, and a formal assessment of potential foreign interference risks related to Alberta’s separatist referendum movement.
This separatist referendum runs a very real risk of foreign interference. We now know that Albertans’ personal information has been exposed to American actors, and the separatists have been looking for support and money from the Trump administration.
Premier Danielle Smith has done nothing.
That’s why I have written to CSIS asking for transparency, regular updates, and a clear assessment of the dangers we face.
Danielle Smith doesn’t care about protecting you. Alberta’s New Democrats do.
BREAKING: The Alberta NDP has unveiled an affordability platform ahead of the next election, proposing an $18 minimum wage by 2027, gas tax cuts when oil prices are high, grocery price measures, and support for first-time home buyers.
The NDP seem like they've officially started campaigning for the next election...
Today they promised to reduce electricity bills by 10%, increasing the minimum wage, removing the gas tax quicker when budgets allow and more!

Lowest approval ever for Danielle Smith.
While GR firms push UCP membership sales because she’s worried about losing her party leadership due to her separatist referendum.
The Alberta NDP making an election-style pledge on affordability.
The plan includes increasing minimum wage to $18, cutting the gas tax when oil prices are high, taking steps it claims will bring down grocery prices and measures it argues will help first time home buyers.

The number one thing Albertans are worried about is their high cost of living.
Exciting to see policy that will reduce people’s costs, grow their wages and keep money in your pocket.
Life keeps getting more and more expensive.
You deserve a government that will help with that.

Yes. As a professional in the community field I can tell you millions went down the drain in that rebranding. All that money could have gone to the actual needs of the service and the people who depend on it.
There's no way this wasteful branding exercise was free.
What were the costs?
Who will be held responsible for wasting money on new uniforms and EMS logos instead of putting that cash into reducing ambulance response times?
The whole UCP-designed blowup of AHS is a mess.
Danielle Smith has lost nearly 20% of her Premier’s approval rating.
Wasting $100M on a useless separatist referendum while ignoring people’s high cost of living and making a mess of health care will do that.
ALT A memorial-style statement graphic branded with the Zachary Weeks Disability Advocate logo in the top left and the word “STATEMENT” in large white letters across a black header. The background is a soft grey with a single lit candle positioned behind the text, creating a subdued and reflective tone. Large black capital letters in the centre read: “MY RESPONSE TO A TRAGEDY IN ALBERTA’S DISABILITY COMMUNITY.” The overall design conveys grief, remembrance, and reflection.
