Every now and then for no reason at all the trailer for SIN CITY will just pop into my head. Still one of the best trailers for a film. youtube.com/watch?v=T2Dj6ktP…

Eating peanuts. Salted shell and all-- well, half a full shell is high risk peanut snacking behavior.

Last fall I marked June 8 as the start of my venture into full-time illustration. For at least 14 months, I'm out of the classroom and fully devoted to drawing. Some for clients, some of my own myth & fable projects. Wish me well as I try to support the family by the pencil. I set the alarm for 5am but was down in the studio by 4:30. Too excited. Going straight into client work. If you're interested in discussing a project, message me here or (more reliably) go to jordanholt.art and use the contact form.

Why get imitation 90s edgy/extreme comics when you can just go and get comics like the Jae Lee run of Namor and the Adam Kubert run on Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance. As well as comics like Spawn from the time which has been published in compendium editions.

I'll go with the season 2 finale of The X-Files, the first time a cliffhanger made me hate having to wait until the Fall to catch what happens next.
The best-ever TV cliffhangers!

Weapon X by Barry Windsor-Smith is the only Wolverine origin comic that was ever needed. An existence of blood, and pain.

Acknowledging something is stupid while doing it, doesn't make it any less stupid.

How about you combine "The Demon With A Glass Hand" about a 'man' sent back in time that will save the human race and "Soldier" about a future war/warrior ends up in modern day bringing his war with him, both by Harlan Ellison you could call it--
Frankly if there was any movie you could make from a Twilight Zone/Outer Limits Episode. For Me, It would be the "Demon with a Glass Hand". Which is actually a Outer Limits Episode and was written by Harlan Ellison. A guy goes back in time, who doesn't remember much and chased by these aliens that what to kill him.

I think Howard Chaykin is the source of the observation that "Every Jim Starlin comic is about death" and once I read that I can't unsee it. Death of Captain Marvel, Dreadstar, Cosmic Odyssey, Infinity Gauntlet, Death of the New Gods, etc.

Rewatching the original Battlestar Galactica and something stands out, the amount of swiping from films for story content. You have swipes from The Towering Inferno, The Guns of Navarone, The Magnificent Seven, even Shane with a Cylon in the role of Jack Palance.

Rewatched the series DARK SKIES from 1996 and it was what I wanted at the time. Alien conspiracy. No monster of the week just aliens all the time. Shame it didn't do well enough to get a further seasons but when the show works, it works.

Somewhat related is how the Callisto in the X-Men TAS tie-in comic that was aimed at kids was more attractive than any other version of the character. From X-Men Adventures Vol. 3 #1 Art by Manny Clark and James Pascoe
I'd like to remind everyone that the Wolverine game launching this year from Insomniac is a SWEET BABY INC. project, something the consultancy itself has confirmed. All you have to do is look at what happened with Callisto to know exactly what's coming. It's a SWEET BABY INC. game, after all.

Is the Chuck Austen run of Uncanny X-Men the best run of all time? No, no way. Though it does have two things I do love. Juggernaut and Sammy the Squid-Boy as a surrogate father and son, and Kia Asamiya on art. The rest of it is-- a mess, to say the least.
