“Get rich quickly” results into such tragedies.
Few gets reported and many goes below the radar.
As per SEBI’s research Retail Indian Speculators loss in derivatives trading exceed Rs 2.80 lac crore between FY 22-25.
May be time has come to make it mandatory to pass minimum qualification criteria for trading in derivatives market.

I think we have a ton of biosciences talent
Just that u find them in MBBS or dedicated BSc/MSc colleges
Avg indian doc is probably far superior to avg indian tech/Engg grad
Need more of a pull into (bio Engg) areas like bioinformatics, biomed, bioengineering, biotech though
wishing the same for biotechnology, bioinformatics and biological sciences in general.

Indian firms can get GPUs, which is not a problem (for now), but talent is a big, big problem. Indian companies just do not have it in them to pay people multi-million dollar compensation. An equally difficult problem is to convince such people to work in India. I feel that even if Silicon Valley-level comp was on offer, most people in that league would baulk at the idea of living in Indian cities. The solution is to open an office in Dubai or Singapore. That could also open the door to non Indian talent. A $10B spend is possible if 3-4 Indian ITES companies combine forces.

Vast majority of GCC jobs are similar to IT services/ITes both in nature of work and payscale
Hard to see them stay for long, at least not in the same volume
Better paying/skilled ones will remain and probably even increase but those are far and few in number

Stuff which goes into a watch must never be underestimated
All sorts of micro mechanical components useful in many other places too
Not too many countries can make good watches
Should we feel proud that Tata worked so hard and invested so much in a watch making factory in 1984, instead of doing something revolutionary and investing in semiconductors?
They had the capital, the govt backing and countries like Japan could have helped if we had asked them nicely.
But They decided to play it safe and launch watches instead, a tech that has been around forever?
Considering that TSMC was founded in 1987 and Koreans too were taking baby steps, it is a nice what if scenario, where our semiconductor future could have been very different had Tata decided to take that direction instead of making watches.
