I’m just reposting this to remind everyone why Doctors want to have their profession and pay restored to 2008. This was my salary before we got into an industrial dispute. Take note of my take home pay. This was doing 50-60 hour weeks.

Hardly any new changes to the offer that was sent out months ago.
What a waste of everyone’s time.

PAs must not see undifferentiated patients. They do not have the requisite knowledge to make it safe.

A PA misdiagnosed a 5 yr old girl with thrush and recommended a prescription for a vaginal pessary tablet and cream. GP authorised it. Pharmacist dispensed. Mother thought that the PA was a GP

Also how clinically divorced are you to suggest that repeated history taking is a negative.
It can be essential to ensure that nothing has been missed, each specialist team will ask similar questions but with different thought processes.
Having IT systems fit for the 21st century is essential. Why don't you do your job rather than commenting on whether something is unnecessary as it undermines patient confidence on what can be an essential part of history taking.

Waiting lists are still over 6 million after your tenure as health secretary, you were still in dispute with doctors and made no progress in negotiations.

I won my seat two and a half weeks ago - with Labour councillors elected in every ward in Ilford North and only three fewer councillors than we started with (on a shocking day for Labour nationally).

Doctors, sign the petition today!
The medical reform needs a serious rethink. We’re calling for:
- separate registers for PAs and reduction of blurred lines
- title protection for doctors
- no increase in the GMC powers of appeal
- new powers for PSA to demand info when needed
The GMC reforms that are on the table won’t fix what’s broken.

I last recall the BMA being a trade union for doctors, not a group of careerists twiddling their political thumbs and posturing with nonsense statements
Lest we forget when the BMA was taken seriously
Wes Streeting's resignation comes at a critical time, with all major groups of NHS doctors in England currently in dispute with the Government.
We look forward to working with the new Secretary of State to address the issues facing doctors, health services and patients ASAP.

No. It is the exam, on top of a medical degree, foundation training, and further SHO years. One cannot just sit the exam and expect to be equivalent, without the prerequisite experience and training as a doctor and a medical degree.
We doctors often sell ourselves short

Wes Streeting has told allies that he is preparing to resign and trigger a leadership contest as soon as tomorrow
The health secretary confronted Starmer this morning during a meeting ahead of the King’s Speech that lasted just 16 minutes over the turmoil engulfing the Labour Party
Allies of Streeting who have spoken to him directly said that he has made clear that he is “going to go for it”. One said that he is likely to resign on Thursday and mount a formal challenge for the leadership
One Streeting ally who has spoken to him said: “He is going to go for it. He’s going tomorrow.”
Discussions have also been held to prepare for MPs to sign Streeting’s nomination papers, according to one of those with knowledge of the plans.
Another who has spoken to him said that claims by Starmer’s allies that he has “bottled it” are wide of the mark and that he made clear in private that he will make a bid for the leadership
A spokesman for Streeting said: “Wes is the Health Secretary, he is proud of his record of falling waiting lists and a recovering NHS. He is not planning to say anything following his meeting with the Prime Minister that might distract from the King’s Speech.”
