Not enough people are talking about the tragic loss of Jif peanut butter in this year of our lord. Hit me with the alt PB recs, I’m desperate
Am I citing this tweet in my dissertation proposal on inclusive design? Yes, yes I am. #AcademicTwitter
Idea for tech students who design stair-climbing wheelchairs: invent a power wheelchair with a back-up battery to alleviate anxiety that comes from getting stuck due to dead battery. Maybe solar-operated? And call it the Solar Roller (TM). That would actually be world-changing.

Exercise for designers and design researchers: Someone asked me this week, “when you talk to someone and say “Good designers do ‘X’”, what are the top things you list?” #DesignTwitter

Good designers seek to build a more inclusive, joyful, and equitable future. Good designers push for radical change while also recognizing that our lives are the culmination of small moments. 3/

And above all, good designers lead with humility, curiosity, and empathy that each human life is worth understanding and accounting for. What do you think? What are the things that good designers do? 4/4

How many journal articles have I read over the years? And now I'm one of them 🥲 Feels amazing to see my work published like this #DesignTwitter #AcademicTwitter rdcu.be/cGDGl

Years in the making...my first journal article was just published! A study comparing idea generation outcomes from individual brainstorming and design heuristics. tl;dr different methods produce different kinds of ideas #PhDChat #AcademicTwitter rdcu.be/cGDGl

Super interesting perspective & great discussion in the replies
As a DeafBlind person, I feel torn about the trend of people describing their physical appearance during meetings for those who are blind/low vision. I appreciate the effort to make things more accessible and inclusive. Truly & deeply, but-- 1/

A conference: "We are fully accessible!" Also the conference: "We will be running from 9am - 7pm" Me: *laughs in chronic pain and energy impairment*

An engineer told me recently: “even if designs are only meant to be functional, they should also be aesthetic.” I mean, yes. And as a friend of mine said, “that’s like saying, ‘I like this building. It’s so architectural.’” #DesignTwitter

One of my favorite things is needing a citation, remembering your friend has written about the topic, and then going to their Google scholar profile to find and cite their work 🥲 It’s the little things #PhDChat #AcademicTwitter

Will never forget @A_Slaton describing corporate DEI efforts as “add minority person and stir” 😂 Thanks for a great class this morning Dr. Slaton! Feeling excited to think about ARL (“abolition, redistribution, and love”) as an alternative to DEI.
