Grateful to Frank - an Irish Pitch&Putt champion - for super fun at Douglas and Rocklodge P&Ps in Cork. Holes ranged from 27 to 70m. Mats for tees, turf greens. Hazards are trees, mounds, slopes and bunkers. Quick and cheap to play. Great for everyone. Make this an Olympic sport!
Carne Golf Links took my breath away. It’s one of those experiences that rolls you back to origins of golf when playing was a cross country adventure from point ‘A’ to point ‘B’. The scale of the dunes is at the “epic” end of any measurement. If you like your golf raw, book Carne

I’m on an insane trip. Royal Dublin, Old Head, Pitch & Putt, Enniscrone, Carne, County Sligo, Lough Erne.. it’s a combo of links and inland golf, championship and short courses. Expect to lose a few balls, get wet and have an absolute blast! ⛳️👍👍
.@AndyTFE and some of our Fried Egg Golf team recently returned from a dream trip to Scotland, which included multiple rounds at the Old Course.
On this week's Fried Egg Golf Podcast we included a segment of our Fife live show with @macphersongolf and a conversation with @mattrouches discussing his first visit to @TheHomeofGolf.
Having never met, I finally got to thank awesome @andy_murray @TheHomeofGolf for signing his book encouraging my wife to let me play endless amounts of golf 😂. @mikeclaytongolf and Ivan Lendl acted as the middle men during the AUS Open in 2013. United by golf!⛳️
A feast of fun @TheHomeofGolf. Played the Reverse Old Course with hickory’s and the @fried_egg_golf clan. Standout holes are 1, 2, 4, 7, 13. 17,18 is a good finish. 11th (reg. 8th) is a cracking par 3 - and due to the green contours, superior in this direction. Loved it!
Wonderful to be in St Andrews with Andy Johnson and The Fried Egg podcast guys. It was great fun doing the live recording at the Byre Theatre on the history of Old Course…. And then getting to play it! Tomorrow we play it in REVERSE!
Wonderful night #STGA26 last night. Incredible venue at National Museum of Scotland and well done to @bunkeredgolf, sponsors, guests and finalists for making it a very special event. Scottish Golf Tourism is world class - keep up the great work!
This time last week I was at the Emirates and Riyadh Golf Clubs - fabulous places. It’s hard to imagine how much things have changed in a week. My thoughts are with all my golf friends in the Middle East. Let’s hope peace and golf will return to normal asap.
Congratulations to Yang and all the other competitors in the Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific Championship held @RoyalWellington Golf Club. A fantastic performance at a great venue and event. A real honour to be there. Well done to @RandA and everyone involved 🙏
Amazing being at @RoyalWellington Golf Club for the Women’s Amateur Asia Pacific Championship run by @RandA.
The course is in extraordinary condition - I’ve never seen it so good! Well done to the crew. 👏. Greens stimp at 10.8. Best of luck to all the players. 👍
Fanatic to be back @MiramarLinks. The new 9- hole course, 9-hole@par 3 course and 18-hole putting course are now all open and it was wonderful to see so many people out enjoying the facilities…even saw a hole in 1👏. Congrats to the green keepers - it’s looking great.
Great to be at the BIGGA event in Harrogate as a guest speaker for GEO @sustainablegolf .I was impressed by the talented and dedicated green keepers making our golf courses fantastic places to play golf. Keep up the good work!
Want to know how much the cost of playing the Old Course has gone up in 100 years? Brace yourself. In 1923 a round of golf cost 2s. That’s 10p in modern money. Using an inflation calculator, that increases to the equivalent of £7.26 today. But the current green fee is over £300.
Old Course fact: Before there were flags on the links, players used fore caddies to look for balls AND indicate where the hole was cut. Holes were cut by knife or trowel in the morning and filled in each night. Golf was a wild cross-country adventure. Things have changed…a lot!
