NEWS After President Petro of Colombia denied entry of two US repatriation flights of Colombian migrants, President Trump has announced these retaliatory measures. Petro said he wouldn’t allow the flights in until Trump establishes a protocol for the dignified treatment of migrants.

Statement from the Trust ⬇️ In response to concerns and questions raised on X following the publication of a screenshot from our booking system, circulated on Wednesday, the Trust would like to make clear that the original screenshot shared was incorrect. The rate card subsequently circulated pertains to rates we pay only during days of junior doctor industrial action. During strike periods, to maintain patient safety when clearly, we have a reduced doctor workforce available, rates for all medical colleagues and some other supporting roles are offered above those available during normal times. This includes our non-medical colleagues who play a crucial role in supporting the medical teams during times of reduced staffing, especially out of hours. All rates are benchmarked against and equivalent to our neighbouring hospitals. In normal times our rates are very different and are based on national pay terms and conditions. We are extremely supportive of all our junior doctors and pride ourselves on the training opportunities we provide. Equally we have a thriving programme for Physician Associates who are a crucial part of our MDT workforce. We are grateful to colleagues from our non-medical workforce who have stepped into workforce gaps during periods of industrial action to help provide cover. Without this support we would not have been able to provide safe emergency services for our patients.
