I am not gonna be that guy, but Lucid had never a chance of succeeding because it's CEO was literally the guy that left Tesla when things got serious and dicey launching the Model S.
Lucid is - as harsh as that sounds - the Tesla failed dropout class, being kept alive by Saudi money infusions.
They thought they would outsmart everybody else, ignoring COGS needs to be below your selling price. All they ever built were "not viable products" to use corporate speak.
It's fair to say that Lucid is now no longer the company we've known
Emad's passion for the products and customers was unmatched - I've had multiple midnight calls with him discussing challenges and wins (not that he would *ever* complain to me about a video I made 😜).
On one occasion I was lucky enough to join his recurring team breakfast gathering at HQ... it was refreshing to see how he led a talented group of engineers with openness, understanding, and high expectations.
It's sad to see him go at such a critical time for the brand
I'll need to catch up with Emad when it's time and as far as Lucid goes... We've got to feel out the vibe and figure out what and who the company is today. Sounds like we should be planning a trip to California!
