I'm excited to announce that my next book, The Body Myth, will be published by @HQstories this July in hardback, audio and ebook. This will be my fifth non-fiction book and I have to say I think it's my favourite cover of the five! You can preorder it anywhere from today!

Leaving cert controversy. @IrishMailSunday A State exam paper now erases women and uses a generic term “pregnant people!” “Besides taking folic acid, describe two positive lifestyle changes a pregnant person should make to protect the unborn child.” Since when did the word woman become so difficult to say or write? Is it regarded as some form of hate speech? Are women now reduced to meaningless terms and insults? These words belong to us - Mother, Grandmother, Woman, Girl, Sister, Aunt. Women will not be erased in language or in law! The Govt has not learned the lesson from the failed referendum when they tried to erase women from the constitution. The public responded with a resounding NO! So who is driving this ridiculous agenda? It’s not wanted by the public.

Today, amongst other things, I wrote about the powerful campaign against 'normal birth' and asked why people are not joining the dots between this and the current rising rates of intervention.

Anyone know any 'terfy' period tracking apps and resources for my tween? Shes currently perusing the amazing @millihill book but the apps I've seen dont seem to mention women or females at all.

This was 2016. When the BBC reported on the British army’s ‘first woman’ to serve on the front line. And it was actually a man with long hair. Sometimes you forget how deeply embedded this sexist BS is in society, how damaging it has been for women and how long it will take to unpick.
How anyone fell for this reality-denying nonsense is beyond me........it really is...😕 This is peak insanity...🥴

Are the people who have campaigned relentlessly against 'normal birth', physiological birth, the NCT, home birth, hypnobirthing etc going to take any credit for this or is it going to get blamed on 'women being older and fatter'? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqxp…

Just remembering one of 'peaking' moments - when this person complained that trans women were being excluded from campaigns against FGM. 🤦‍♀️ 2021.
Replying to @millihill
The problem is not that she's centering women in her work and words. The problem is that she excludes trans women from it. 'I'm a woman. Get over it.' is what trans women say too. If everyone accepted that trans women are women just like cis women, no one would take issue.

Glamour, the magazine who last year named 7 men “Women of the Year”, is now telling women that what matters when giving birth is what they’re wearing. Meanwhile, women are facing a real crisis in maternity care across the NHS. These people are Exhausting.

Today's piece is about how cultures of 'banter' and degradation enable violence against women, including in maternity care.

The ADF getting involved in UK single sex sports is a mistake, it's just handing the opposition ammunition. I don't understand why this has happened. Our arguments are strong enough without hopping into bed with an organisation like that.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in public life. But the growing threat of legal action against trans‑inclusive organisations risks silencing the very groups working to make that possible. I’ve raised this urgently with the Culture Secretary, pressing for clarity on how the Government will support inclusive organisations in this uncertain climate.

Didn't the first female firefighters experience shocking sexism and have to get changed in the toilet etc because there was no proper provision for women or did I dream that? They've obviously forgotten because they talk about 'hard won rights' in reference to MEN! Idiots.
The Fire Brigades Union has made a statement on the proposed EHRC Code of Practice on Services. Our message is clear. Equality matters, solidarity is essential, and we will continue to fight for both.

Appalling disrepect for women at one of the most important moments of their life. Presumably this one will be hard to blame on the alleged 'cult of natural birth'? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c152…
