Most people are intellectually unable to imagine a concept of reality that isn't strictly linear and strictly progressive (i.e. Thursday is better than Tuesday because it comes later). Anything we have today or the "Present" must be both inevitable and better than what we had yesterday or the "Past." Correspondingly, if we are inspired by something from a bygone age we have to accept all that came from that age (i.e. if we have the Colosseum we must have the Gladiator or if we have the little cottages with thatched roofs we must also have the Black Death and the Robber Baron). All these assumptions are breathtakingly stupid yet here we are. Especially since the modern or "Present" versions of the Gladiator, Black Death and the Robber Baron, are still with us.

Did you know C.S. Lewis predicted the modern obsession with “being nice” would destroy the soul? In The Abolition of Man, Lewis argues that when a society stops believing in objective virtue, it doesn’t become tolerant… it becomes manipulable. He calls the result “men without chests.” People with appetites and intellects, but no courage, no honor, no trained moral instincts. They can calculate everything and defend nothing. Lewis saw that once we reject inherited moral law, we don’t become free. We become raw material… easily shaped by propaganda, pleasure, and fear. Modern man prides himself on compassion while quietly surrendering every standard that once gave compassion meaning. Lewis’s insight is brutal: a civilization that educates clever cowards will eventually be ruled by tyrants or technicians. Because when nothing is worth dying for, everything becomes negotiable… including human dignity.

Enough of the pessimism. Here we are, with a bullhorn to the mightiest public fora in the history of mankind, and yet we whine! We have no weird ideology or purity identity to protect. We grew up bathed in their weird progressive ideology. They saw "a scary tweet by an online reactionary once." Their sad curses doesn't hurt us anymore. We are on the side of beauty, truth, health, roots, life. They are on the side of masks, self-mutilation, disease and denouncement. We are the side that builds cathedrals, plants orchards, learn the languages of our ancestors, make babies, lift weights, build homes. They build "housing", worships the bland box, plants weed not gardens, turn into mutes and stutterers so as not to offend, engage in endless mortification, mutilation and confession sessions. They declare us haters, so as to paint targets on our backs for every drugged up lunatic with a voice in his head, for what use is it to reason with someone who hates? We declare something lovely and lovable in order that it can grow lovelier and greater. Let's stop the whining and laugh in their faces. The counter-revolution starts now.

Donoso Cortés was correct when he pointed out that a society’s willingness to punish, and execute was a reflection of its seriousness about evil, and confidence in itself. Cortés understood that the death penalty was not barbarism but a recognition that some acts are so grave they demanded ultimate justice. But when societies grow hesitant toward execute, it indicates that they no longer believe in the reality of sin, nor in their own authority to combat it. Liberalism abolishes capital punishment not because it is more humane, but because it is nihilistic. It no longer has the conviction to affirm anything worth defending with blood.

Assassination culture is spreading on the left. Forty-eight percent of liberals say it would be at least somewhat justified to murder Elon Musk. Fifty-five percent said the same about Donald Trump. In California, activists are naming ballot measures after Luigi Mangione. The left is being whipped into a violent frenzy. Any setback, whether losing an election or losing a court case, justifies a maximally violent response. This is the natural outgrowth of left-wing protest culture tolerating violence and mayhem for years on end. The cowardice of local prosecutors and school officials have turned the left into a ticking time bomb. foxnews.com/us/new-bombshell…
