Interesting news this a.m.: In announcing the creation of a new task force to determine what social-emotional supports MCPS students need, Council Member Craig Rice says he no longer supports having SROs in schools. Rice has been a strong supporter of the program in recent years

Thanks to Marilyn for testifying about the importance of mental health crisis response that does NOT include police officers. We must adopt a program like CAHOOTS that uses mental health professionals to answer these calls, not armed police officers.
