Consumers have been calling for ways to consume greener power and take the load of fossil-fuelled peak generators, and @NationalGridESO #DFS programme is an exciting and important step forward. But this is just STEP 1
Getting to zero: Even on things advocates have massively invested in, like getting off coal, the pace needs to be 5x faster wri.org/publication/state-cl…
Who knew that @idriselba has been working with @ConservationOrg for over a year, and though brought to tears by what he has seen, he still thinks we all can make a difference on climate change. Inspiring during a time when we really need it. #hope#education#climatechange
We have more renewables in the U.K. now than ever. But we can’t figure out how to turn off gas and coal for good. That’s because the economics keep ‘baseload’ and curtail renewables. This has to change NOW.
So it turns out their small EVs are wildly popular. But instead of massively ramping up production, adding shifts and so on, @VW is ceasing production. Anything to do with the fact that 2020 and 2021 are baseline years for setting 2030 emission targets? electrive.com/2020/09/06/sko…

OPINION: "As governments try to rescue their pandemic-hit economies, they need to keep a clean energy shift at the forefront" write @mollywebb@energyunlocked and Angela Picciariello @ODIdevtmsnrt.rs/3jaqFqQ
Such a pleasure to work with the ODI team on this. Truly putting citizens at the heart of the energy Transitions they want is our challenge - and our massive opportunity
Since the pandemic started, $169 billion of new public funding has flowed to fossil fuels.
We should harness decentralised and digital technologies to drive a green economic recovery, say Angela Picciariello (@ODIclimate) and Molly Webb (@energyunlocked): news.trust.org/item/20200825…
Top #climatechange story from @BBCNews this week: now a ‘rising chance’ of exceeding the 1.5C global target. We can ALL make a difference to this, even while we’re at home. Make sure you’re part of the #cleanenergy revolution!

It is so hard to sort the good news from the bad, and to know whether or not to feel optimistic about the overall trends. But one thing we know for sure: Unless we transform our dependence on fossil fuels, this will keep happening
We've also signed the letter. Good to hear from @ofgem CEO Jonathan Brearley that "Every green electron traveling a short distance down an empty wire is cheap" - so consumers should benefit from their preference for it!
