The flag of Shropshire will be flown in New Palace Yard to mark Shropshire Day. This year, for the first time the Speaker’s flagpoles will fly the historic county flags on the relevant county days.

The design originates with arms attributed by mediæval heralds to the 6th century king Inyr.
The pattern has a long association with the county and is widely used and recognised.
