Good Friday. A quiet mirror to the human condition: That truth is often unwelcome, peace is hard-won, and the greatest acts of courage rarely look like triumph. We honour not the end— but the stand that was taken, in service of something greater than the self.

I’m on a roll. Higher GCSE Maths Unit 3 - use it as a worksheet for a revision lesson. Or set it as easy peasy cover with the video that goes alongside the worksheet. Unit 3 Foundation is filmed too, just need to edit! Get them here: hannahkettlemaths.co.uk/cove…

2 hours outdoors walking today, for the first time in weeks following an injury. Felt so good to feel the wind and smell the autumn

Sat outside on the floor supporting an upset student and a black cat appeared and befriended him and made everything better by consenting to belly rubs.

Found her drawing on a table, in a foul mood. Slid a piece of isometric paper under her pencil and from the corner of the table stood up my "rubber shark do do do do do rubber shark do do do do so rubber shark" - I got a glare and a held back smile. Table was clean when she left

Student said today I was giving bruised banana vibes with my outfit. I liked that one and he loved that he was on fire answering his maths questions.

Made a student smile today by seeking him out as my Resident expert on the number 5. I showed him a colleagues 5. He said: she(me) writes 5 like they're Japanese characters, you(colleague) write them like you're russian. What's wrong with you people?

Today a colleague brought in her hammer and nails and moved my classroom clock 5cm to the right. I was so thankful for this act of kindness, it would have driven me mad all year to have it perpetually slightly off centre in my new room

This is hands down the best content I have consumed in a long time. My son sold it to me as "better than game of thrones" and I don't think he was wrong. Id have never have thought to watch "Minecraft content" but, wow, just wow!!! youtu.be/ef568d0CrRY?si=gO3e…

This week I drove 110 miles up the motorway to Penrith. I passed under 72 bridges. Of those 72 bridges, 48 of them had either a St George's Cross or a Union Flag cable tied to them. 3 weeks ago, same route, there were no flags.

So, here's a thing. I think I don't like flags I find myself feeling uncomfortable when they're being brandished and waved around. This is definitely a me problem, I can't put my finger on the route of my unease, but it doesn't feel right. Am I being a crank?

Was talking with a stranger yesterday, she confessed to me that she has 11 sofas in her house. I got way too interested in the hows and whys of how someone could accidentally accumulate 11 sofas. The story did not disappoint. I liked her.

Today, GPT-5 launches across our platforms, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry. It's the most capable model yet from our partners at OpenAI, bringing powerful new advances in reasoning, coding, and chat, all trained on Azure. It’s hard to believe it’s only been two and a half years since @sama joined us in Redmond to show the world GPT-4 for the first time in Bing, and it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come since that moment. The pace of progress is only accelerating, and I can’t wait to see what developers, enterprises, and consumers will do with this latest breakthrough. news.microsoft.com/source/fe…

This feels really like a really big milestone. Well done.

Today, we at @OpenAI achieved a milestone that many considered years away: gold medal-level performance on the 2025 IMO with a general reasoning LLM—under the same time limits as humans, without tools. As remarkable as that sounds, it’s even more significant than the headline 🧵
