Last year, we ran our campaign to purchase our first house and start an autonomous student housing coop in Brighton and Hove.
We worked with @BaHCLT @ethexuk and @EcologyBS to provide a sustainable, radical and ethical way of living for students. 1/3

What’s driving England’s housing crisis?
In part, it’s because we’re now a country of *multiple* home ownership and private renters.
In the last 20 years the proportion of adults owning multiple homes doubled, the %s of 16-34 y/os buying a home almost halved. 🏘️🧵

Parish and town councillors have helped to get a lot of @CommLandTrusts going, provided seed-corn funding, helped with community engagement and supported planning applications. So it was great to speak to NALC members about affordable housing and #communityledhousing approaches.

Can't believe I'm writing this, but I wonder if this winter well need 'warm banks' the equivalent of 'food banks' where people who can't afford heating are invited to spend their days at no cost with heating (eg libraries, public buildings)?
