Wrapping up our second day at #EHA2026 by catching up with Ruben Mesa (@mpdrc) to hear about the two-year findings of the SURPASS-ET study, the potential of hepcidin modulation in #PolycythemiaVera, & developments that are most likely to change the treatment landscape for patients with MPNs.🩸🎥

CONGRESS | #ASCO26 | PRESENTATION
Ruben Mesa @mpdrc presented findings from an integrated analysis of the efficacy of ropeginterferon alfa-2b for the treatment of patients with ET from the phase III SURPASS-ET (N = 174; ropeg n = 91, anagrelide n = 83) and phase IIb EXCEED-ET (ropeg N = 91) trials.
ELN response was 58.0% with ropeg vs 19.5% with anagrelide (p<0.0001) in SURPASS-ET and 60.2% with ropeg in EXCEED-ET. Ropeg demonstrated comparable safety across the trials, with predominantly low-grade, manageable AEs in the integrated safety analysis.
Findings from the integrated analysis suggest ropeg may provide a disease-modifying treatment option with a favorable benefit-risk profile across patient subgroups.

Cancer deaths in the U.S. have declined by 33% since 1991. @theNCI-funded research has been central to that progress — alongside advances driven by the broader scientific community. It shows what sustained investment in science can achieve. go.nih.gov/UugQoGd
