Research cited by the World Economic Forum found that deepfakes grew 900% between 2019 and 2020. Sumsub, an identity verification platform, observed a 10x increase in the number of deepfakes from 2022 to 2023. “It’s incumbent on AI platforms, social media companies and lawmakers to act now or put democracy at risk." Will the US congress step in and regulate GenAI before the 2024 election?

Does working during *some* evenings / weekends indicate you're contributing to meaningful work?
People who work some evenings and weekends are least likely to resign. Because they care. The people most likely to resign work either: • No evenings/weekends (disengaged) or • Most (burn-out)

"Designing and manufacturing a car is complex work. To pull it off, global auto manufacturers generally maintain relationships with thousands of suppliers responsible for their own individual hardware or software widgets. Apple seems to have concluded it is better off without that particular headache." wired.com/story/rip-apple-ca…

The U.S. tax system needs a complete rethink. How much you’re required to pay, where your tax dollars are going, to the end-to-end annual filing experience. We can do better.

Yup. Give users control and preferences over what they want to see & experience... ✨
I don't yet know how well this works but all AI should have this. People are not babies. They can decide this stuff for themselves.

One way to encounter failure fast is to think just because you add #AI into your product, it will get usage. I learned this the hard way. There's a unique trust barrier with humans & AI. The barrier can be high or low depending on the use case, high stakes or low stakes: High: A financial recommendation Low: A song or video recommendation #Design for Trust is the key principle to a good experience with AI.

Potential partnership between X and Midjourney. Very neat concept that could bring GenAI image creation to mainstream content creators. I see X gaining further adoption and engagement with this move.

Reddit inks $60M deal with private AI firm, allowing access to user-created data for LLM training, prior to upcoming IPO. It’ll be interesting to see how other companies will navigate monetization of community-based data and content with AI tech. How do we build trust in privacy and data usage within the AI space? What’s fair? Will creator revenue sharing be the model? How will we *actually* know whose content is whose? #AI #GenAI #Reddit #UX #Tech

Slack adds AI into their Enterprise solution. Nicely integrated into popular features. I love the "save time and focus on what matters" part. This is where AI can really help cut through the noise and allow people to focus on what matters: Designing, developing, planning, brainstorming, strategizing, coaching, leading, etc. Good stuff. ⚡️
📣 Introducing Slack AI: Artificial intelligence for organic productivity 💡 Summarize conversations, search smarter, and get time back to focus on the work that matters most 🧠 Now available as an add-on for Enterprise plans in English. More plans and languages coming soon!
